The hobby welding we do in this hobby is not bad. Hang out with welders and compare your mental ability to theirs and you will realize it's not brain surgery! Not hard once you get the hang of it.

Disclaimer Before I get flamed: professional welders are true craftsman and artists, and the speciality welders are underpaid for what they do. I'm talking hillbillys like us welding brackets to a truck in our garage.

See that's why I can't weld; there's no one around me that I know personally that can weld.

I drove 12hrs just to get some custom sliders made and burned on.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist with some things (I reload for long range) so I'd love to learn the skill. Just no place to do so or anyone to learn from. My home's wiring wouldn't be able to handle a welder anyway.

So I just ooh and ahh at all your guys welding projects

All this talk of beadlocks got me motivated enough to call raceline. I got their sales and asked questions, which lead to me getting sent to the technical guys. After bullshitting with the lead tech guy for about 15 min, we came to the conclusion that Raceline doesn't make what I need specifically. But, he sent me over to Coyote Enterprises. I talked to them for a bit longer and I think I am going to pull the trigger on these:

So, I'm just gonna do a steel wheel and these internal beadlocks. The dude at Raceline couldn't say enough good things about them

I don't really want to have to do the work but it is what it is. Truck was sitting for a long time so I assume the seals dried out pretty good. unfortunately it wasn't really leaking til after I started to run it

I gave my old axle nut socket away with my last 85 so I need to buy another one. Plus I need the tool for the kuckle pull. I might just buy Low Ranges kit for $299. It uses Koyo bearings sometimes.

Cool thread, I didn't know spiders molted. I've been lurking since 2014, and never been in this thread, just the main 1st gen page and classifieds. The main page gets old, this thread is like "All gas No brakes, lol
