I just a bought a 2020 trd pro. After joining this TW FORUM, I have to ask myself why did I do so. So far I like my truck, but I have read more complaints on this then chevy ever had.. Paint issue's, clutch noise, fuel pump, rust problems, transmission faults, water leaks the list goes on and on.. Why does everybody think these are such good trucks, One has to ask ?? Yes I know they are the # 1 selling truck. But are people like cattle, just follow the leader.. Sorry to be such a downer BUT.

Yeah, I see it too. Not everyone has the same problems across the board though. I have a 2016 and have not had any of the issues you listed like other people have had in my same year. IDK

It's more that people have the problems, not so much the truck.

It's like yelp, a lot people come on here to complain.

Paint issues- seem to be random
    clutch noise - I don't know
Fuel pump - It's a recall, there a million components, something will be bad eventually
Rust problems - seems to be hit and miss
Transmission - Technically there is nothing wrong with it. Actually you will find the same experience in other toyota vehicles
water leaks - seem to be isolate to the 2017's.

I bought a Toyota because I wanted to, they have long history of reliable and giving you pice of mind.
I thought about getting a ranger but they were new to that year (2019), so I decided not to.
I didn't buy a fronteir because I just came from a pathfinder and had a beef with Nissan
    Gladiator is too much
Colorado and canyon, while cool trucks and offer diesel, GM has a metric fuck ton of problems with their vehicles. I did not want to deal with it.

We'll see, maybe at 60k miles I will be eating my words

BUT bad timing, Pro. It was all peaches and cream during the Stun Gun years. Now it’s all fisted cow complaints and mercury tears of nostalgia.

    Also, welcome to the internet.

Because they're new trucks. Owners in 1st and 2nd gen forums just replace the parts.

This will be my 4th Tacoma, been a proud owner since the 90's and I can say I have not had any major issues with any of them so hopefully my 2020 will be like the rest. Very reliable and a solid value when I sell.

Toyota guys that post all day and night are the type of people who just complain I’ve noticed.

For example, complain on Twitter about how their non-GMO organic Coldpressed coffee has a .3% flavor ratio drop then the last batch from Peru....or complain to the manager about the people sitting next to them at the high end brewery because of the very “pungent” cheap cologne smell interfering with their Taste buds.

Take Others opinions with a grain of salt. I own a 2.7 four-door and have never experienced one of these problems that people claim. Maybe I’m just one of the lucky ones but I definitely Enjoy my truck. When I first joined this forum I was worried myself if I made the right decision but after hanging around here I realized it’s a pissing match. I use it for entertainment LOL

A lot of people are like cattle...one cow moos(sp?) and the others start mooing. Every vehicle has issues - so does the Tacoma - and when you sell as many Tacomas as Toyota does the problems impact more folks. The Yugo car (dating myself) did not have hundreds of thousands of complaints, but then again they did not sell that many - still, it is probably the worst car ever produced. I bought my truck new in Jan of 2019...I've got 63K miles on it...I love it, no problems (couple of small recalls that were done during routine service). Enjoy your truck...judge it like people - by how they treat you or what you see, rather than what you read/hear.

I think people buy into the hype that these trucks are indestructible and are disappointed when they find out they are not.
Even though I am disappointed with Toyota sluffing on the frame rust issue and the fact that a deer could do $7500 damage to my truck and then walk away I still think Tacoma's are still the best thing out there.
I had a new Chrysler Lebaron that the dealership spent more time with than I did. Also had a new Mercury Villager and a Pontiac Grand Prix that had endless electrical problems. A new Buick Rendezvous with a head gasket problem and my favorite was the new Chevrolet S10 that blew the engine at 20000 miles. I never had problems like that with Toyota. My Tacoma is the 5th one. I had good luck with Mazda too.

I think people like to bitch and whine and complain. It's just become too big and "accepted" or "tolerated" part of our complex world now I guess. Personally, I love my truck, and I expect a certain amount of issues and recalls as I would with any car or truck. Toyota is #2 in quality behind Porsche, so really #1 because I can't afford a Porsche.

I have had many Toyota's, this is my second Taco, we are on our second RAV4, my Stepdad had eight Camrys, lets be real Toyota makes a great product overall.

As for people whining arguing and carrying on, so what, online I can just logoff and not see it, day to day, I limit my exposure as much as possible to the stupid and crazy, whatcha gonna do!? :argue: :annoyed:

    Peace love and power chords!

2019 with 14k, truck has been great. Couple minor things such as the clutch squeak but had the TSB done and no issues since. Every auto maker has issues, but I feel Toyota has less than the others in most cases.

People who are frustrated with their truck are a lot more likely to voice their frustrations out loud than the people who are happy voicing their happiness with their truck out loud.

It’s as if I came on TW and talked about how every time I’ve taken a roadtrip my truck has made it to the destination problem free. Or how every time it would rain how water wouldn’t get into the truck.
Most people probably wouldn’t care, because they expect that out of a Tacoma.

Now when someone post an issue with their truck it gets attention because it soon becomes a “that’s not suppose to happen” type of problem. Which is more likely to get attention and concern than if I said “I drove from point A to point B without a problem.”

I’m going on 5 years in March with my 2016. Ive had some hiccups here and there but my love for the truck out weighs the negatives I’ve had.
I still love this truck so much but you don’t see me starting threads about how much I love my truck.
