    @MattJakobs

    1st Gen Tacoma... You could just swap your 3rds. Your mid travel LCAs, and UCAs would swap. Your coilovers would swap....

    Just sayin :rolleyes:

    I've thought about a trailer too. Easy trails, load that bitch up and let it carry the weight. Harder trails, either set up a base camp or just go solo and leave the weight at home.
    Wouldn't be a bad option but I don't have anywhere to keep it, or the resources to build it since I'd want to, from scratch.

    Thought about this too, or a first gen tundra to get some V8 in my life.
    Only problem is there isn't much more space inside the cab. It would be nice to have one with a Vagabond and full bed build...

    Yes and no, I'll be patient on buying something. If I decided to do an 80 series, I would part the 4Runner out but not necessarily to fund the 80. More to either keep it or sell it stock and get the most money.

    If I did an 80, I'd hope to find a triple locked one. That way I can start wheeling it right away. The lift, armor, etc. would come afterwards but a fully locked one would be plenty capable for the time being.

    I kinda wish I'd gotten a 1st gen Tundra from time to time. I love my 1st gen Tacoma but the v8 and space would be nice too.

    My dream is a 1kz turbo diesel in my truck with a veggie oil burning system.
    I can get used fryer oil from work. Start and stop the truck on diesel, once it's warm switch to fryer oil and drive around on that. Free fuel.
    There's a place in Bend, OR that'll do the swap for $24K.
    Assuming the diesel motor get's around 25mpg with my camper it would take a around 10 years to break even at the rate I drive my truck.
    Now, if I didn't have a daily driver it would take around 3.5 years to break even. That makes it realistic. Even at 20mpg it's pretty good. However, I don't think driving my truck everyday would be all that much fun.

    The big challenge is getting it smog legal. I could buy some property in a non smog county and register it there. There are other reasons to buy some property somewhere else in CA beside this.

    Lol...no kidding.

    I have friends in Salt Lake City....and from the several times I've been there I like it. Plus I've spent around 13 weeks rolling around southern Utah and love it.

    If I could transfer my job there I would. But they also have smog in SLC. Their air quality is shit.
