One mud hole and you'd shake your truck to pieces on the road. Plus police wouldn't be able to use stop sticks. So would be hard to see these make it to the public. Close off the sidewalls and would be awesome for offroad use only.

 

I think they were designed for on road. In one of their adds they had them on a car.

i think they will be big for industrial and offroad uses, but i don't think they will be used for any high speed applications.

They are not big enough for any REAL offroad use, Might do well on a bobcat, but if that truck tried to go over anything that had more than 1ft drop they look like they'd bust, and anything larger would probably lose durability.

I don't know, they seem to handle land mines pretty well

 

Our minesweepers run on metal wheels, easily replaced, cheap. /shrug

 

Also, I would imagine someone hitting a curb with these things would eat them alive..

 

looking thru a catalog at work one day, you need to buy the entire assembly(tire/wheel, hence "tweel"..About 1K per wheel, so roughly $4,000 a set of "tires".
