I know I know, search the forums before posting. I did, couldn't find much, and I'm pretty sure this isn't a regularly asked question

I ordered F/R Kings 2.5 with comp adjusters, the shop has been waiting on my rears to arrive for a while, but said that they have another set of the rear shocks with comp adjusters available, that have a 1" longer rod end and that I could take those ones if I didn't want to wait any longer.

How they described it was that the one with the longer rod end is more of a "true" extended shock, while the ones I ordered are supposedly the same shock with an internal spacer removed to achieve the extra length?

Not too savvy with suspension stuff, so would love if someone could help explain it to me better, and tell me why I should/shouldn't take em, and what kind of difference it would make for my suspension travel in the rear.

If you are lifting the rear this sounds like a good option

yeah that's how they described it to me. Basically, because my initial order was just an AAL, they went with the "standard" shock with the spacer removed for extended travel. Since I changed my order to an RXT pack, they said these would be better to go along with the lift.

My question is, if the rod end is 1" longer, would that not reduce travel distance by 1"? Or is it just tacking on an extra 1" to the end without affecting travel?

Ask them what the compressed and extended lengths are for both shocks

according to them, the same as the standard extended version. from their description, it's the exact same shock, just built with a 1" longer rod end and that supposed internal spacer removed

Should be good then. Same shock, more travel (more up travel which is great if you are lifted)

perfect, thanks. trucks in the shop so wanted to get it all installed at once, and i can go today/tomorrow to pick up what they have vs waiting an indefinite amount of time for the rears that were initially on order.
yup same shop haha. just wanted to get more user opinions, she told me the same and that this is pretty new to the market.
