Think this custom tacos thread has me somewhat convinced I can do the 4Runner front end swap. Been thinking about the cost of things and while I'd really like a 95-97 front end, I already have headlights/markers and a 4Runner hood. So I'd just need a passenger fender apron, two 4Runner fenders, grille, hood hinges, and a core support. Not sure what I'm going to do about a bumper since I'm selling my NWTI kit Saturday to a guy in Austin. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

@Sperrunner So my Dewalt 14.4v drill is on it's way out. Should I pick up a Milwaukee one along with a 3/8 impact? Need this stuff now with my roommate no longer sharing his extra tools with me.

I have this combo for work and it does me good. And I think a good deal to get into the Milwaukee line of tools https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18-Volt-
    Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-with-Two-5Ah-Batteries-2997-22/305063033

if you want a impact for your truck maybe go with the 1/2 impacts. I have the high tourqe model and it works great. But @Kwikvette loves his mid tourqe model.

The things that kill you the most on getting into a new tool line is batteries, i would say if you are gunna get a tool drop the extra for a kit because it usally comes out a a little cheap. Also if you can wait a little try ordering online from homedepot. I seem to find better deals online then in store

Thankfully my 14.4 stuff is a dead end so this is me buying into my first modern battery setup. The Dewalt should get me through at least a core support/apron spot welds. So maybe I’ll just deal with the extra hand tool time this weekend. Then I can try and find a deal instead of buying them locally tomorrow.

1/2 would be better for suspension and the garage but 3/8 is nice for mobility in a salvage yard. Might just end up with both. You have me convinced on the fuel versions.

My CRAZY cowboy buddies used to go hunting them a night with dogs and a roll of duck tape. Dogs would surround the hog, A CRAZY cowboy would grab his hind legs and start him spinning. Another would knock him over and then they would duct tape his legs and snout. Drag him back and sell him to a Game ranch.. Big money in CA to kill a Hog. I've seen a hog that big alive and ducked taped in the back of a Chevy pickup. I didn't believe it either until I went out with them one night. MUCHO Adrenaline. Dragging him back to the truck was work enough... Don't believe me ........ IDGF

The 1/2 mid tourqe would be just fine for junk yards. But its your call.

idk how deep you wanna go buy both Milwaukee M12 and M18 line are good. My daily drill i use and abuse is this guy. Has done everything ive asked it too. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-1-4-in-Hex-Impact-Driver-Tool-Only-2553-20/303205819

And if its mobility you want M12 suits that better. home depo has good deals from time to time and even more often online. So if you can wait i would. Or pull a @cruiserguy and ger it all 2nd hand for a bargain and be happy

I'm using and carry my mid torque M18 everywhere for my trucks needs.

Keep in mind, if a bolt is torqued to say 250lbs, it requires roughly 80% of that torque to undo. For that reason the mid torque model does everything I need it to.
