I understand what most of it means and have read a lot about it. I just don't know how to decide where link brackets go and what goes where etc. lol im sure you just put things where they fit and cycle until it clears but ill read some more. id like to see a linked one in person and take some pictures for reference but have yet to come across one.

He tells you in the video how to decide where you put the brackets. Obviously, he geared more toward building rock buggies, which gives him a lot more flexibility, but you can take the information he gives you about the length of your links and just try to hit it as close as possible. Really, the only thing he talks about that isn't really applicable as far as I can tell is the triangulation of the upper links. With a three link, you're running a pan hard bar to control the lateral position of the axle so the triangulation of the upper link isn't that critical if I understand it correctly.

I really want to do a 3 link SAS, especially now that I've dipped my toe into the mig welding pool, but if I did, I'd have to give the OGT to Todd and look for a T4R (Not Natty, she'll remain the pavement princess). @Timbo's Customs is building almost what I would build, except I'd keep the rear axle 4 linked and either use a D60 rear or a fabbed axle housing with a drop-out third of some kind. Probably the same with the front as well. Although my target tire would be a 38". As always though, I'm never going to have the cash for it so it's a pipe dream for me.

If you are going to stay leafs, I would put the shackles up front before trying to install a traction bar up there. It solves a ton of problems a leaf sprung front toyota has.

Video from last December at River Rock. I wish I was able to get some more videos and pics of the place, but I went there by myself so I had no one to wheel with other than the group that adopted me when I arrived lol. Cool place, lots of cool stuff for a place so far south.

Let me know if or when you head there. Hell, let me know if you wheel anywhere that’s fun lol. I need more out of state trips and the majority of these Florida guys don’t do the type of wheeling that I like

Sounds good, I'll try and remember but usually I end up going with the TN guys to AOP or Windrock anyways and I think you're in that thread

I don’t think I am. Tag me in it when you get a chance.

I’m gonna be up that way the week of thanksgiving and will be wheeling somewhere, if y’all have anything planned

Most of the Florida guys don't have a rig built up like yours due to lack of funds or lack of welding skill or both. Nor do most of us have a trailer and a tow rig to get home with if we destroy something important. :luvya:

Otherwise, I'd be right there with ya.

North carolina in the hickory area. The job plopped in my lap from a former co worker who happens to be the hireing manager. So like when finding a GF, I wasnt even looking there lol!

3hrs to harlan, 3hrs to windrock, 4hrs to AOP, 1hr to uhwarrie, couple hours to the gulches. All of those are 8-11hr+ one way drives for me now, so if it works out I will be a happy camper!

@allenfab hence I moved to AZ. I can drive an hour and get to something now. Out of state is Moab and that’s only 5hrs to proper Moab.
You can head out this way anytime.

You don’t understand, it’s no overlanding when we actually wheel. Plus, Katemcy Rocks is on the way out there.

Time to get things ready for wheeling season...

Decided to move on from the PRP seats and retrofit some 08 civic SI seats in place. Loved the PRP’s, but they were difficult to get in and out of and they were very hot in the summer (in hindsight, should have got the centers of the seats in a tweed or other breathable material to prevent the back/ass sweat). Total pain in the ass to get the seats mounted but it was worth it in the end. They sit up higher and are breathable, and a breeze to get in and out of.

Replaced the fan clutch and fan, as one of the blades was cracked. Also did plug wires while I was in there.

finally built the spare tire mounts for the trailer, so I don’t have to keep them in the bed of the Ford while towing/traveling.

Also picked up some of these nice waterproof military surplus boxes, only needed one but for $40 a piece, I bought more. Going to rig up a turnbuckle system to mount one on the bed rack so I don’t have to deal with ratchet straps.

Figured out and fixed the winch issues... moisture got inside so I took it apart, cleaned and sealed it back. While I was at it, I decided to finally clean up the wiring on the Bussman panel and relocate the winch solenoid next to it. No longer running a plug for the winch remote, all in-cab switches now.

My cheapo battery finally died too, so I upgraded to an interstate agm battery and nice terminals. No more corrosion or loose connections.... hopefully
