My front brakes are in dire need of replacement and I was thinking of upgrading the existing rotors and pads from OEM. I tow a 6000lb boat that has trailer brakes on both axles, but I suspect since having this boat I’m eating through my front brakes more than I was before. I only trailer a few miles though so that’s good.

I don’t want to have to get new calipers just some good upgraded pads and rotors that will go in without any serious mods.

What’s everyone recommend for good brand and type of upgraded pads and rotors? I’ve heard the name powerstop but don’t know anything about them. Bonus if they ship fast!

    Thanks in advance!

I recently replaced mine with the EBC S5KF rotors and pads. Stopping is way shorter and better pedal feel than the OEM brakes.

how much those run for set of front pads and rotors? I’m seeing the power stops for as cheap as $170 on car ID

I switched over to Powerstop Rotors and HAWK 5.0 Pads and they suck. Constant brown dust everywhere, everyday. I upgraded to all stainless steel brake lines and will just go back to OEM

Here's my thread on the Hawk LTS pads and Brembo rotors. Couldn't be happier. I haul firewood/logs/rounds in the bed and this combo stops way better than stock. Better bite, way less dust, easy to install.

I would highly suggest that you purchase new guide pins in advance and new spring clips for the pads as well. I purchased my '14 4x4 in March 2020 with 96K miles on it. The guide pins were a little hard to tap out and were corroded extensively. The spring clips not so bad but might as well be proactive and order those.

Most aftermarket rotors are not actual upgrades and pad performance has many variables. See this thread for brake info:
