It all depends on the user, i bought it to have peace of mind. My last truck was a 4x2 and regretted not buying a 4x4. If he can live without the 4x4, more power to him. He can save a good amount of green. But also in the future 4x4's are easier to sell as there is more demand for them.

Nope. Just the Sport. Head room issues with the Sun roof. The same but premium was another $2500. I remember there would have been change from a 50,000 dollar bill.

Well I can confirm that is BS. I just went to my local dealer and we agreed on a 4x4 OR DCSB Cement w/ Tech Package, Bed Light, and LED Fog and Running Lights. Being built on 8/13.

I'm no expert but I would bet 2020 model year production is winding down now or very soon. I could be wrong to. I've also heard Toyota released some models later than others. Most automakers have the new model year out in September.
Of course the 2020 units still have to go through regional distribution and out to dealers that takes weeks.

Hi All - I'm looking for a bit of insight from the Tacoma buying crew: :help:

It seems time is getting close to our move back to the US of A... therefore, I expect I'll be looking to be in 'need' of a Tacoma sometime in late September or October. (Definitely NOT the best timing... I am sad to say...). I have extended my assignment a bit already, but it seems we'll be heading back then...

I just hope schools are open - somewhere... or my wife will kill me.... Any location suggestions? (the current plan is to land in CA (San Diego, or Tahoe city areas where we can easily hole-out for a while - but we are somewhat flexible.). It seems Tahoe has a lower infection rate than most places so we can hope schools will be open there??? But I digress...

On the Tacoma purchasing topic: I will be looking for a well kitted-out Tacoma off-road, or even a PRO. (it will be a keep-until-it-dies truck and our last internal combustion engine'd vehicle...)
Also -not to debate this topic, but it MUST be a Manual Transmission (I will not buy an AT Tacoma - and this not due to any perceived issues with the AT - I just do not want an AT... )
    :burnrubber:

I would prefer an Army Green, Quicksand, or Lunar Rock for 2021, - or the dark Grey metallic as a last resort. No white, no black, no silver, etc. (too bad cavalry blue is not available... -I like that one!) - We will buy another Toyota at the same time as my sister will be in the market then. (our second family car will be fully Electric.)

I am also open to a used 2020, or 2019 along the same lines... - Obviously, this I'll chase upon landing there.

The request to the group is:
1- From those in the know; would it be best to start looking for the beast now to set it aside (in this odd market), or wait and look in late September / October?
2- As you lot of buyers continue to conduct their searches - Please let me know if you have a lead on the above described beast. (Group-buy anyone? :taco:)

3- If you have a buddy in the business (whom you trust) who would like a quick and easy sale of two vehicles in return for reasonable deal; - please do put me in touch! (-I'm not limited to California to purchase... I'm fine to travel half-way across the country to get it!)

thats almost the exact thing that happened to me last week. Had a dealer trade set up for cement. They said it fell through and wanted me to come look at the black and white one they had.. (I didn’t want black or white) they asked what my second choice was color wise and I said blue... and blue was what they got.

That's funny how things work out. :) I hope you like the blue. I think the voodoo blue is quite vibrant. I could definitely drive it but but I don't see that color on non TRD models much.

It’s impossible to say for certain what’s going to happen because like everything nowadays no one really knows but if I had to guess I would say your timing would actually be perfect. I would think that the time when you are getting here Will be just after The market has settled down and come back to normal.
I would definitely not order one right now. I think in a month it would be worthwhile to reach out to some dealers and explain to them exactly what you just wrote to see what they say. This way you can take your time and they will know that they’ve got 2 easy sales ready to go. I’m sure you’ll find a dealer who will be willing to play ball and have two for you by the time you get here.

Not sure if you got a good deal since you didn't list MSRP, negotiated price and then OTD price. You could have gotten 1.9% for 60 months and saved on interest payments. Stretching car payments out to 72 months is tough, it lowers your monthly, but you pay more overall.

If there was a party but nobody told you the location or the day/time, would it be of help to you? Saying I got blah blah financing without any other details is the equivalent = Useless.

FYI and background. Just got this note from Toyota for an offer. I already bought so it doesn't apply but wanted to share. I am in the Northeast:

"Toyota offer: Get 1.9% APR financing for up to 72 months on all Toyota Certified Used Tacoma models. Click for terms. Offer ends 8/3/20."

    Just passing this along ...

I lost touch on your deal. Did it work out or did it die on you? I hope it works out for your sake. If not, be patient, as I know you will. It will make your new truck that much sweeter when you get it -- eventually.
