The driver itself will displace some of the air, but that shallow 10 shouldn't be enough to matter.

The excursion is (Xmax =15.2mm), so just don't put anything right up against the face/surround of the sub. An inch or two gap is plenty.

Plastic on the seatback will likely need to be removed.

    Here's a vid of a 10 doing work....give it room to move!

Holy crap, that’s awesome! Do you think maybe I should shorten the top from 4 inches to 3.5 inches to give it a little more room?
With the plastic on this is what the back looks like. I think if I build it to these dimensions it should fit. If I need to take the plastic off the back of the seat then that’s fine and even if worst comes to worst and I need to remove the whole plastic cubby then whatever that’s fine too.

You might be able to keep the plastic cubby in place but you'll need to use all available space.

JL makes a stealth box, but it's formed fiberglass and molded exactly....

Most any other box will need to remove the plastic and/or seatback to fit.

My box for a single 10" is .65 cubic feet of air and takes up the entire passenger side, no cubby no seatback.

Seat back is reupholstered just to clean things up and keep the metal seat frame from touching or rattling.

And its $700. Cant afford that. I don't see how they are getting the .5 cubic feet recommended. I guess maybe because the fiberglass is thinner than the .75 mdf? Will it be a big deal if the box is about .43 cubic feet instead of the recommended .5 so I can just square it off just under the child seat hook instead of having to do a bunch of extra cuts, etc?

I probably would have gotten that except I always have two car seats in and want some sort of behind seat storage easily accessible without having to remove the car seats.

Bingo. Consider boat hulls - they're what - 1/4" thick at best in most places?

Toss in a bit of polyfil and that will make up the difference. Use the batting type stuff they use in quilts & line the walls. A half pound should get you close to the equivalent of another .07 sq ft.

Damn! Did not realize boat hulls were that thin.
First box build. Never heard of the poly stuff or realized it could sub for ft.³.

    You mean this right?

3 inches at the top would give me plenty of clearance against the back of the seat and .43 ft.³.

3.5 inches of the top would give me .46 ft.³. But might come a little close to the back of the seat

Making a sealed box too small will cause you to lose some of the low sub bass extension. Mid bass will come up a bit, so it will be more punchy, but have less boom.

.5 is pretty small already, I wouldn't short it too much especially with that sub.
