I have the 887 with skids and sliders on my truck and the spring rate is just fine. headstrong is the best place very helpful! I exchanged a half dozen emails with them before I finally decided 90021 with the 887 so it has softer valving and springs but still has the full lift amount.

Yeah the 885’s were great when I had the stock bumper on. I think I went through low range offroad for my setup and I had them assemble them and add a spacer to the driver side setup.

    stockish for now
Ordered a 3 rod holder from Amazon (Berkeley), bent up some aluminum, added some 3/8 bolts, lock washers, washers and put it all together using the t-things for the rails. Now just going to bend and attach supports to the bottom to keep it from bouncing around. Really happy with this since I fish a lot. Later on I will paint them black to make everything match.

This is one of the biggest negatives I have with mine currently on top of my cap. I'm only 5'10" so its a heck of a stretch.

Sold the cap when I bought the truck and discovered some rust starting under the plastic rails. Spent the last few days Sanding, blasting and painting them, finished off with spray on Bedliner.

overall happy with how it turned out, well see if/how long it lasts..

That looks great! I’ve been debating how to treat my bedrails if they’re too scratched up when I pull the plastic off to mount my wedge camper. I won’t know for sure until I sell my cap and see how bad it is underneath but I’ll have to keep this in mind!
