Just seeing if anyone else is experiencing the same thing I am. I ordered the King stage 4a set up from Runnin 4 Tacos on May 21st and received my leaf pack and u-bolt flip kit shortly thereafter. Now, 2 months later I still don’t have my shocks.

Taco Twonz (owner I think) contacted King and they are saying that they are behind due to Covid and one of their shock builders getting it and they were shut down for a few weeks. But King was still accepting orders.

I have nothing bad to say about R4T, I just want to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem with King or any other company.

    Thanks!

At least I’m not the only one. My C4 Fab order is also 3-4 weeks behind original completion date...sigh. First world problems I suppose

We have some custom kings on order right now, was quoted 10-12 weeks estimated for them. They're very busy at the moment for sure. 4-6 weeks is real common for them, so it being doubled with everything going on right now isn't too surprising.

This isn’t uncommon right now. Closing for a month really puts them behind so I’m sure their diligently trying to catch up.

It’s amazing to me how impatient we are as consumers. 8 weeks for any order isn't that bad really.

Good to know, I was actually being told “they are shipping this week” for a month. That’s where my concern was.

This is my first king order, and I wasn’t informed on the build/assembly times. I was told everything was in stock at the time of the order minus the rear shocks. Again, no hate towards R4T, it was just bad communication. But when you spend $4K+...it’s an unsettling feeling. At least I know now that the wait is normal, and patience is key!

Dude literally every business that relies on over seas compnents is running into massive delays in every step of the process. The factories are at half capacity tops and cargo ships are not the place to be right now

I just want to pile on and say I was just quoted a 10-12 week lead time for some Kings. It's across the board.

absolutely, I get it. Didn’t mean to single you out I was talking in general. I deal with it at my work all of the time. People want to place orders until you tell them the lead times and they respond by saying, “oh, that won’t work.” like it was a question.

I understand being displeased at paying the full amount and not having the product. Especially if there was bad communication from the start.

The problem with King... and I’m sure Fox... is local builders that have a relationship with the guys at king will walk In and pull a set of built shocks that fit their need. The order then has to be rebuilt.

I know I ordered my fronts and a local shop started a build about a month later. they had their shocks a week into the build, mine took 2 1/2 months. Funny, the other truck owner is bragging about his custom valving... same as mine. (Not a Tacoma, and at the time i think there were only 3 sets of this type out there)

my rears were supposed to be Kings. Due to my disability and being in a lot of pain, I decided not to build my bypass rack and storage. I sent the truck to a shop in SoCal to have th e fab work done, and I’d order the parts through the shop. There was a shortage of king bumps... the shop said no worries he can just walk into king and grab some. Same thing with the bypass shock.
Well he didn’t grab the shocks in time and they closed for a month. So I decided to go with ADS. But his plan was just going by until there was a 3x16 4 or 5 tube built. He would grab them pay for them and that poor person would have to wait for another set to be built.

this seemed incredulous but I’ve talked to 3 different shops now in SoCal that I’m well enough with acquaintances with the owners. Or they just don’t care to Brag. But they all talk about it like it’s the common practice.

I guess as long as you don’t grab From the large generic orders to sdhq or kartek etc the staff don’t care.

3 different shops, and my experience... too many coincidences to not have some validity to it.

It’s shitty but I can understand it to some degree. I’m sure these shops are large customers for king and they want to keep them happy, as opposed to joe shmo who bought one set of kings for his tacoma.

Again I’m in no way agreeing with the practice, but I do (I think) understand why it happens.
