So.....I got in a little fender bender.

Would this be a COLLISION or COMPREHENSIVE claim?

    Thanks!

Collision! Good luck with that...I hit the beam on my car port at my old house and ripped the bumper cover off my ex-wifes car!!! I had just recently purchased an Xtera, and she made me drive the damn Kia rental while hers was getting fixed!

This is a collision claim. No question. You will have to pay the collision deductible, if you have one. This will also count against you for the next few years, if you file a claim. Do you think it will be a lot more than your deductible to get fixed? If it isn't much more, I would pay to have it fixed and not file. Do you have full coverage on the pilot?

Personally I would just leave it if I couldn't afford to get it fixed out of my pocket or I couldn't do it myself.

Comp Deductible is $100 and Collision is $500 :(

My wife will not go for that...It's a 2010 and she is just as anal about her Pilot as I am with the Tacoma.

The first thing I would do is get an estimate on repairs. Make sure you say you are probably not going to file a claim, because usually estimates are higher when they know an insurance company is going to pay out. Let them know you are comparing prices. If it too much money for you to pay out of pocket, then you may want to think about filing the claim. You may have a policy with a forgiveable accident so that there isn't an accident surcharge. I would talk to your agent after getting some estimates.

Thanks for the advice! I will get some estimates tomorrow. I am guessing this will cost over $1000 to fix because the entire bumper will need to be repainted. Sensor will most likely need to be replaced.

    Thanks!

Ouch! Sensors are pricey. Good luck with everything, and even if you do have to file a claim...that is why you have insurance. So don't beat yourself up too bad. Let us know the outcome!

Well if that is the case then you have no choice but to get it fixed. It is just a car though and that miniscule amount of damage isn't going to affect anything other than your wife's eyesight
