Ya when our golden retriever has stomach issues we switch her to no food for 24 hours. Then rice for 24-48 hours and then chicken and rice for another 24-48 hours.

That's pretty much what I'll do. I feel kinda guilty I'm making delicious chicken enchiladas and poor guy can't eat anything.... he's so lazy today. Can tell he doesn't feel good.

 

Damn heat isn't helping either. Too fucking hot

Hope he gets better! boiled chicken and rice is my go to when a pups not feeling well. Is he drinking?

I have a pup that randomly decides not to eat I have to go off drinking. As long as he is drinking water like normal he should be fine according to my vet. If its only for a day or 2 and chicken and rice doesnt help then I take him in immediately to get checked. If he shows improvement in the day or 2 I just talk a lot of shit to him to make myself feel better while I pamper him and get him back on track. If he refuses the chicken and rice he gets taken in immediately. Its fun paying $50-$100 to get told hes just being picky.

 

Yeah, he's drinking water a little here and there but mostly he's just been really lazy today.

 

And yeah, I spent $53 for them to tell me what I was already gonna do anyways

 

Ya both of mine are weird with eating. One will go a full day without eating sometimes. I really worry once they don’t drink anything and are completely lethargic. I also have a friend who’s a vet tech and works for poison control so I always text her anytime something weird happens with mine lol

 

I'm always worried I have a psycho neighbor whos throwing shit over the fence and making him sick. I find weird food all the time in the yard...

 

My Tank did that a few times, usually after he got kicked by a cow or bit by a snake.

 

Worth it to know for sure. Glad hes drinking and you've got a game plan! Hope hes feeling better soon!

I need a friend like that! I have the internet... Husky's are notorious for being picky eaters and going days without eating. I more or less force my little one to eat some days so he doesnt make himself sick. Luckily my older one loves to eat so he'll always eat at least 1/2 his food after telling me its time to eat starting up to an hour before his normal meal/treat time.

How many times has he been kicked by a cow! Some dogs are slow learners when there drive is too strong, my little one is that way. Too stubborn and one track minded to think about past mistakes.

 

He just wanted to play with the calves but mom said no. He ran through an electric fence a few times too. We were shocked that he lived to be 14 with some of the things that happened to him.
