Yeah not sure what you are going for but minimal intrusion and strapping down a safe quick and easy I guess this could work.

I'm from texas and we love our guns. It is a pain when you come across places you cant carry and I have to say that I have never encountered a single situation that I would had ever had to use my weapon. How bout u?

I haven’t seen any access cabs but I’m about custom. More visual the better.

As a law abiding 2A supporting freedom loving proud patriot, I'm with you 100%. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. For some people it's their wubi, for others it's just another tool. I look at it this way, why have a fire extinguisher in your home or smoke detectors? I hope I'd never have to use them in defense of either my life or my family but we still have them. I don't think that anyone that carries in support of their constitutional right ever wants to have to use it and those that purposefully put themselves in a situation where they need to exercise that right, give the rest of us a bad name. Now with that increased responsibility, we have a responsibility of following all laws of the city, county, prefecture that we may abide or drive through. This is a good argument for the national constitutional carry movement where one state doesn't have different requirements than their neighboring state.

With all that said, OP, you'll be able to get a good reference point based on where the seat bracket mounting hardware penetrates the floor pan to get a good general reference. I have been back and forth on something like this that slides under the seat and out of prying eyes. That way it slides out between the drivers feet so you can safely store and remove the pistol without having to get out of the vehicle to fiddle with something in the back seat. I watch a lot of ASP videos and vehicles are a perfect transitional space so if I can safely store my pistol while keeping my eyes up and paying attention is a big plus for me. If it doesn't fit, I'd look at maybe some steel spacers for the seat to raise it up to clear the drawer. @octrockville If you're looking at ways of securing the safe to the floor, I would personally run carriage bolts up through the floor. Try to find aluminum bolts to reduce corrosion build up. If you can't find aluminum bolts, try to use a phenolic spacer or washer to keep corrosion in check. Steel bolt on an aluminum body with any type of catalyst is recipe for corrosion.

I never have a center passenger, so I pulled the seatbelt and used the bolt to mount the bottom of my safe. Angle aluminum and rivets for the top. Although, I have a different style safe...
