when you use control panel to uninstall an application it sometimes won't delete the desktop icons and it definitely won't remove the installer files that you downloaded. Uninstall using the add/remove option in control panel, delete any installation files you previously downloaded to not add confusion, restart the computer, then try downloading the newest installer file and running it. If that doesn't work try right clicking the installer file and "run as administrator" but the fact you're able to uninstall it makes me think you don't have any administrator credential issues.

Yep that’s probably your problem then, programs need to be uninstalled using the add/remove option in control panel

Install again and then uninstall using add/remove to see if that helps. You may need the old installation file though, not sure.

What happens when you go to add/remove? Do you see VFTuner listed in the programs?

Is the $390 tune pack for people who don’t want to start a tune from scratch?

Correct. When you buy the tune packs it will come with a whole host of pre-made editable tunes for all sorts of different setups. Stock tires/gears, bigger tires, different gears, different throttle responses, and different octane level fuel. Manual transmission tune packs have been released but automatic transmission tune packs have not. If you have an automatic transmission and want a tune now you can do what the rest of us AT guys have done. You can purchase the tune packs and while you wait for the full feature editable versions, OVTune gives you access to a non-editable version of the tune that doesn’t have all the features of the final release (don’t confuse final release with 2.0 final, they’re not the same).

....Am I the only one who would pay extra for 100% linear throttle control on one of these tunes? There is still a little bit of unpredictability with the 2.0 91 tune at lower speed. Still seems to shift into second too soon sometimes.... like way too soon. Sometimes the taco goes around a corner like a boss, other times it bogs like stock.

Somewhere previously Mat stated he tested a linear tune, but his pre-release testers hated it, so it never made it into a production tune.

Anyway I would pay extra. I intend to linearize throttle as soon as I get access to 2.0 in vF. I think the combo of silly low shift points and wonky throttle curve is what makes this beast so unpredictable and frustrating to drive at times. Sometimes it gives me WAY MORE torque than I wanted, sometimes WAY LESS. 2.0 has helped tremendously though so far.

I read that it was tested and disliked as well...can’t imagine why, and I do wonder how many peoples opinions led to it not being a thing...I Also wonder what Matt’s opinion of it was. I just wish a “linear throttle” version existed. Couldn’t possibly be any more touchy than my third gen 4runner...

I definitely want it. I somehow make my truck stumble or jump rolling into the throttle too light in 1st-3rd.

02 4Runner in the family, smooth as butter.

Good to know Toyotas throttle mapping and fuel control have been wonky for 2+ decades lol :D

That 4runner was super touchy throttle, but was VERY smooth and predictable :D Good ole cable throttle. I just want instant throttle response. The tune is still the best thing I’ve done to my truck by far, though. But when I purchased it, I was under the impression it would remove ALL Throttle unpredictability.

Ah. Modern vehicles. You'll never get rid of all of the unpredictability...

But getting an M/T is a good start :D
