During my 20's and 30's some of my friends used to question the validity of some of the stories I'd tell about the things we did and got away with. Once when several friends were over when my Mom was down visiting, they actually asked her some specific questions about some of the things we did. They were totally surprised when she backed up the stories I told. Sometimes I think of my life growing up like a Norman Rockwell Painting, only on weed, beer, boones farm, and Annie Greensprings. If I was growing up Today, I'd have been shot and killed by the police or sheriffs department before I hit 25.

Growing up in Texas was quite an adventure during the 60's and 70's. I can remember driving across the State in the family car, a 1964 plymouth valiant. It would take all day and part of the night, and we drove my parents crazy with "are we there yet". Stuckeys was our favorite place to stop, since they had all the over priced crap to buy. They did have a pretty good patty melt. When we drove back to Midland from Mississippi one year, I spent my hard earned money on a belt buckle with TEXAS in big bold print with an Oil Derrick in the middle. Don't know why I was thinking of that particular item, but I sure wish I'd held on to it.

I know that there are several photo's of Whatever members in the first few pages, but here's an Idea. in the next week dig up your favorite photo of when you were 17 and post it here. Lets see if we can get some interest. If it does,I already know which photo I'm going to post. trust me you'll get a good laugh out of it, when you compare it to my "Crappie" fishing photo.

@Biscuits , After doing more Research, I might have been mistaken about Tower Records. I think the record store I was trying to remember was Cactus Records, after all we are talking about almost 45 years ago, and my memory is for shit these days. Dos anyone remember when you had to stand in line to buy concert tickets. I couldn't tell you how many times, I'd stand in line for hours and get to around maybe 4 people from the ticket counter and they'd come out and tell us their sold out. 4 times I tried to get ZZ top tickets and failed. Also missed out on Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and too many others to list. I lived for concerts back then. We used to bitch when ticket prices hit $15.00 dollars, and a T-shirt at the show was $10.00 The ticket prices people are paying today, just blows my mind, and I'd bet you a dollar a T-shirt is around $30-40 dollars today. I don't know this for sure, but I'm sure it's steep. I think we should all try and skip down memory lane, and post a list of all the Rock Concerts we attended in our youth.

Well it's the middle of the night again, and I'm going to try and get some shut eye.
