Those short trips on a cold engine really kill the MPG's, especially with any hills involved.

If I had problems the first thing I'd do would be to log and compare differences between tunes in the scenario(s) of concern. Otherwise it's not known if it's just a preference thing or an actual problem.

Aren't a CAI and a normal air box the same thing?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills hearing people talk about CAI's. Like, it's just an air box with a filter in it that might be shaped slightly differently from the stock one. I don't get it.

    04A61 2.0 at 1800 miles. Love it....

Sounds like some of you need to scrounge around the salvage lots and snag a 04A61 ECU and install it.

I’m not using the trd cold intake box. Just a regular trd air filter that goes in the regular air filter box

Something that accidentally worked for me in the past is to simply try another tune, and if you don't like it then reload the tune that was giving you a problem and see if it behaves differently. For example, 19800 worked well for me for a while, but then it got all surgey and weird. So I tried out 1.05 performance for a bit until it got clunky with the shifting. I decided to go back and give 19800 another try, and it worked flawlessly for over 10,000 miles. The only reason I changed was because of the most recent 2.0 release (which works well on my 04A61 ECU).

I'm just amazed that I had such different experiences with the two different times that I loaded the same tune.

Right. Logging might show that. Like with some people saying they are getting dead pedal. Log the pedal input and the throttle plate position and see if there truly is laggyness is it something else.

running premium, stock tire, non txh on 04b31, with 265/70/17 (one size up from stock) tires (31.6"). other than the gear lock, and towing mode being absent, it is pretty alright for me.

had tried the premium 33 thx, and did not like it due to shifting gear hunting at higher speeds (hwy/cruise).

Are you on thx version? I am on 2.0 35 91 4.88 thx and although the mpg might be a bit better, the 19800 4.88 34 91 definitely seemed better at highway speeds. Had some peddle in 6th without constantly downshifting! Had no ECT though. Just wondering if I try the non thx, or just go back to 19800. No ECT on this "final" either.o_O

So I’m really new to all this, I just bought a ovtune flash kit from a fellow member. I now want to flash my truck but have a few questions. 1 - how do I find out what ecu my truck has, and how do I contact ovtune to get them to respond and which tune do I get? Running 265/75 r16 6112/5160 lift, rtt in the back. Any help would be mighty appreciated.

It’s over 3300 pages long. There are no cliff notes, I’m sure someone is kind enough to respond

    Hello Guys,
I need you guys give me suggestion on my Handheld - Flash Kit Accessory.

I did follow the instruction carefully, but when I upload the tune file (.bin file) and after it completed, i get an error message "ERR_INVALID_FILE"

Looks like device don't have permision to write the file.

Email to Zendesk a few time and not hear them back over 2-3 weeks.

Any suggestion help! Thank you very much.

Ive been having some hesitation from stop/go and having to floor it for it to downshift when i want it to. Kind of scared me at one point when making a left with traffic coming truck hesitated and wouldn't go then it pulled hard. I was like wth was that? Happened a few times actually. I'm on final 2.0 04B04 tune with at least 1k miles on it already.

Didn't have this problem with 1st and 2nd drop 2.0 final (with the start issue) it ran awesome. Anyone have similar issue?

I know three people who have done this on a regular basis. All three of them would not believe that it was bad for the tranny. ALL THREE of them have had to replace or have their tranny's repaired. I get no pleasure in telling them I told you so.
