Am I missing today's trend or something? Care to elaborate? (no sarcasm - I just need education)

If it resonates with you, keep it forever.
Your daughter won’t remember the truck unless you keep it longer. Nothing from age 3 survives, and if it does it’s because you’ve repeated the story over and over, and so you have a memory of a story of a memory. Also, kids are expensive.

Your post suggests that you’ll want another vehicle soon enough, so I would say keep that personality trait in mind. (You’re already unsure about whether you’ll keep the 2019 that you’ll have until 2022 even though you planned on buying it out.)

There’s lots of good advice here. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

Idk. Take out the $4k out of the $30k = $26k, is your well kept Taco worth that? I'm only thinking "monetarily"

What is the doubt that your truck may not be worth keepinp at $26k(30k - 4k, imv), because it was kept out in the open? Track record of Taco's kept unGarage aesthetically, rust problems, is it reliability mechanically, etc.?

Avatars are like names. They're personal and it's impolite to criticize them.

I think I meant if the truck is not garaged, it looses some of that "excitement-drive" factor in MY HEAD. I am not even looking at the financial side that much.... It like having exotic pet knowing that you cannot fully take care of it....salt water fish tank knowing that you can only provide fresh water, urge to have Koi fish pond having not estate to build one - do you know what I am saying?

Interesting - since nobody really has their pictures as an avatar, there must be a reason for it.
ANYBODY care to educate/explain it to me? :annoyed:

Theoretically yes - practically, my Taco is treated like a Caddy/Lincoln.....never seen gravel/off-roading and no load on the bed-liner (except my daughter jumping on it once in a while).
No my truck will NEVER be used as truck BUT am I buying Hellcat to race? Or Humvee to conquer middle east? Who said I cannot enjoy small truck for the way it looks and the comfort it gives?

Yes - I truly like they way my Taco looks AND performs BUT I cannot garage it.... Even me waxing it weekly, it gets dirty and sticky overnight...

This site is almost all guys, posting a selphie is a little weird. Would expect that on Match or some other dating site, not on a truck forum. Don’t take this the wrong way I was just poking fun.

Dave may have good advice on leasing a vehicle or not.. His overall advice is simple, just get a job delivering pizzas and start an eBay business and all of your problems will be solved. Don't buy anything unless you can cash flow it.. So for most people wait until you are 70 and almost dead and you can buy a thing or two you want.

understood, know what you mean/feel. I'm the same way with things that I own, Man what a predicament to be in inwhich only you can answer for yourself because it's not about the cash but Loving your Taco and having to see it aesthetically deGrade out in the open.

Seems like your next new vehicle, whatever that might be will have to fit in the garage.

So far I am lucky/fortunate enough to be healthy and have a well paid job so, as I explained before - cash flow is the least on my mind...

Yup. My truck does not lead a rough life, but it gets used for truck things. My bed is covered in scratches and dings, but each one has a story behind it.

And that's also a valid way to enjoy a truck. I see people rag on truck owners all the time for not hauling or towing constantly, but how many of those people in their GTIs and BRZs ever go to the track? The point is to drive something that you personally like, not worry about using your vehicle to the full extent of what it can do.
