Sounds like a 4runner would be your best bet

I am almost 90% sure....and I LOVE the fact it is made in Japan..... I spent 3 weeks in Japan at the Toyota facility (before it was allowed) to learn Toyota Production System, and I have also seen the Lexus line....all I can say it was an eye opening experience seeing extremely quality oriented culture believing in what they are doing.... the loyalty of Toyota workers is beyond the walls of factory.
When taxi is used for private events, it has to be Toyota if one works for that company.
Driving in Honda/Subru/Nissan is considered disrespectful and not taken lightly.....

it is mostly related to certain colors. look up paint flaking on this forum and you will see it is almost exclusively on super white cars. from the looks of your avatar, your car is white so you may want to keep an eye on the usual problem areas. it seems to happen most frequently on the paint around the windows.

Check out the new hybrid rav4- it's awd. Fits in the garage, can be used for small adventures- even though you mentioned the truck is pavement bound. Sick car, we really like ours. And it'll be way more affordable than the 4runner.

First, I can lend you my truck for a week, it would love some wax and probably a way better job at cleaning.
Option 1, take that thing on some trails and scratch Or something so you will be ok with it parked outside.
Option 2- figure out what you will be ok with parked outside
Option 3 find something to go in garage

sorry BUT I HATE what Toyota did to the latest Rav4 generation. No V6 available anymore and the car looks like a Star Trek not to mention it is CRAZILY overpriced for what it offers. I sat in one - fully loaded $40k version and the interior is cramped and very tight....

When I had my 09 (first brand new vehicle), the first weekend, I thought I knew a trail, and wasn’t willing to admit that it was looking less and less like a trail as we continued on. Due to kids growing, traded that in with a huge dent in the rear passenger side that was there for atleast 4 years. Dam I miss that truck.

new one has a few flesh wounds already. Find some dirt roads, enjoy it like it was built to do.

The past is irrelevant. 30k in regular times would be an average/fair price for that truck. Right now you will not be able to get one for that.
If you don’t need a truck you could get a nice new Honda Accord Sport for 25k. Of course the accord won’t hold its value quite as well as the Tacoma. In three years, will probably still be worth $24,000. The accord will probably be worth $16,000.
But more importantly which would you rather have a new accord or three year old Tacoma?

    None, yet
I like how you say you've never had it over 4k and that it's also an under powered engine.
