Now that u found the fob, get a new one and u can program it yourself with the cracked version of techstream from @tonered signature. It's stupid easy.

That's awesome that you found it, many years ago in the middle of winter I slipped and fell down a flight of stairs and my keys flew out of my hands into a snowbank, was not fun trying to find them.

Impressed this had a good ending. Reminds me of when my keys fell out on the ski slope but didn't notice for a couple hours. 2 hours up and down every slope I went on, found other people's keys, 2 ski passes and a wallet. Turned them all in...and found out someone turned mine in. Bought em a beer. Now get that spare in a safe spot!

    Cut truck off
    Remove physical key from fob
Turn off fob transmitter (optional but recommended if you will be away for a while)
    Hide fob in truck
Get out and shut the door
Lock drivers door with physical key and all doors will lock

If you loose your keys again then the stupid expensive fob will still be in the truck, just gotta slim jim a door to get inside. This is how I leave my dog in the truck with it running and locked when I need to run into the store.

Also for everyone saying tow it to the dealer, I lost a fob last year and when I asked a friend at the dealership about replacing it he said that it would just be cheaper to go strait to the 3rd party vehicle locksmith all the dealerships in the area uses because nobody in the area does it in house anymore. It was easy since I still had the other fob and could get to the guy when he was on my side of the river but he had his workshop setup in a utility van and can go anywhere he needs. Maybe try finding out if your dealership also contracts out for key replacement work and if so get their phone number

Edit glad you found them! You have some bad luck with keys, maybe one of those keychain tags that tells/pings your phone when you are near would be helpful

I did exactly that last year, forgot to zip up my riding jacket pocket and lost them somewhere in the 25 mile stretch between home and work. A real pain in the dick it was because I also lost the keys to two diffrent weapon lockers at work and the paperwork and hoops to jump through for that.....

I immediately went to www.survivalstraps.com to order a replacement keychain because thats what I was using before, but this time I got it in fluorescent orange and with a dog tag with my name, number, email, and work department (don't put home address, duh) and ordered another seperate dog tag for my bike key. Went to Amazon and got an orange dog tag silencer for the bike key to help spot it when it's disconnected from the main keychain. Hopefully the next time I lose them someone will call me before I realise they or missing or I will be able to spot them on the side of the road.
