How's the hike there? Thinking about taking the kids on another hike his weekend. They did a 3 mile round trip just fine, but very little elevation gain.

My three year old daughter hiked about 3/4 of the whole thing. I had to carry her up the some of the inclines. But it was a nice hike

There’s a great view beyond the lake that’s well worth the extra hike... It’s one of my favorites!7D280227-0765-4C8C-AF12-3D4D2FC3A5CE.jpgFBEC0C27-B6BB-40C1-BDA6-9076659F42E6.jpg

Crowds significantly die down once you get past the lake as well which is a huge bonus to the extra distance. Hiked up there in September of last year and saw maybe 3 groups once I got past the lake.

Panorama from right next to the summit of Mt. Chumstick, section 4 of the WABDR - the summit is up the little 2 track behind the truck. From left to right in the picture is looking to the Northeast, rotating around to the dryland wheat of Eastern Washington then south to my Tacoma and the summit of Mt. Chumstick, around to the Cascade range to the west and then back up towards North...
