3rd gen cab adjacent bed piece on 2nd gen?

    Super awkard title, but anyway the truck bed wall adjacent to the cab on 2nd gens is lower than the sides that go along the length of the truck. It's all level on 3rd gens. My understanding is that 2nd and 3rd gen beds are the same. It appears like you could just buy that piece from a 3rd gen that just bolts onto the cab side of the bed and makes it all level. Is this true?

    I'm curious, because if you could, that means that you could use a 3rd gen canopy on a 2nd gen and it would fit properly.

    If by canopy you mean camper shell, it still wont work because the tailgate is different thickness and height and shape.

    If that's not what you meant, disregard :)

    That is exactly what I meant. Damn. Seems like 1st gen, 2nd gen short bed, and 3rd gen canopies are all reasonably easy to find. Nobody's selling their 2nd gen standard bed canopies.
