They're similar to the wheel bearings in the IS. You would need to press it into the spindle using the outter race, and then press the hub in while supporting the inner race. If you take it off and give me the parts, I can press it in at work for ya.

As for "a couple years ago" I was doing wheel bearings every 6 months when I wheeled the truck. Now that I don't really wheel, I haven't had to do a wheel bearing in almost 3 years hahahaha

When I did themm I replaced the outter seal, and inner seal with Toyota parts, bearings were always "premium" bearings.

I get the concept but I don’t have the gear to support the spindle in the press and I couldn’t supervise when PfT pressed it in. Was an awkward chat when I picked it up, like they knew they screwed it up. No wheeling since install and frig, I havent really put any miles on! Just farting around town.

I’d go with Koyo this time since I read they are oe for Tacoma’s but much cheaper than the dealer.
I’m working from home now so I don’t really need the truck every day but if I pull the spindle, I can’t drive to drop it off...

    Wow, what service haha
I'll let you know, still need to order everything. Seals are $150 from Toyota! haha Even the parts person thought it was excessive.

If you have a 2nd gen I'd have seals you could borrow ;)

The seals are brutal cost wise. But it would be silly to put the time and effort into doing it, just to half ass it! Who knows, the shop might have reused seals the last time and that'ts why you're already running into issues!

On the second gens, the inner (on the back of the spindle) seals against the axle, and the seal surface is always pitted and rusty and does not do a very good job of sealing, and thats why I fried more wheel bearings then I did eggs the entire time I wheeled the truck regulary.

Now I'm at a point where I'm debating selling the Corolla and Taco and buying a Tundra :crapstorm:

But you'll wheel the Tundra, right? At least camp out of it?

I'd be looking for a second gen! I'd probably end up with a quad/another older pickup for wheeling!

Bit of a change in direction, I picked up a Chevrolet 1500 the other day.

    Many thanks to @[KD]

    Andrew loves it.

Might take some of the heat off @TacoMitch93 after his Tundra revelation;)

Got the clutch kit installed in the truck over the weekend. Thankful I had a buddy who has a lift in his garage and he brought home a heavy duty transmission jack from work, or this would have been a huge pain!

Side note: Before I post it on Kijiji, does anyone want first crack at buying a LUK Flywheel? Mine looked fine so I ended up not swapping.

Maybe you should just take out a couple of the extra bolts? Clearly they are just slowing you down!

Anyone have a recommendation for a place to cut/bend me a sheet metal bench top?

    @D2.

I've done a couple, I did my "mechanic bench" out of 1/8th plate and 1/8th angle, just welded them together.

I did the same thing with the bench tops I made at work!

For my welding bench I did 1/4" just flat.

I also have a vise bender I've used for thin sheet to make rockers and such, you could borrow that! To do anything of length, you have to do it in sections, and bend it slowly over the whole length.

That’s pretty serious! I already have the bench which is made out of 2x10s, just want to cover it with a sheet of galvanized. Like 20ga or so because it doesn’t need to support anything. Since it is 10’ long and 28” deep, I’d never be able to cut and bend it myself. I figure there must be sheet metal places in burnside that do that size cutting/bending for hvac work.
