    Sounds good.

Sorry I was no help on the seat thing. Other than fiddling with it...mostly the pull handle...the dealer might be your best bet.

No worries, not carrying company in the truck with me for the foreseeable future. Will have them take a look the next time I'm in.

First time for me. Haven't done anything other than poke the seat latch with my finger to make sure it wasn't seized.

    Bunch of Basic Taco mods.
Just got home from a week long vacation. Took my wife’s Grand Cherokee, it’s a bit quieter and better gas mileage. We take the truck if we’re going somewhere we need the extra ground clearance or the road is rougher.

Tacoma wasn’t any worse for wear, thankfully my anti-rodent provisions seems to be working, truck’s just filthy from a week spent under Crepe Myrtles.

Mornin' stalkers. First day not havin' to answer the alarm in a while. lazy morning.

Yes! Whats the deal with this? as someone who USES his truck, frustrates the heck out of me that a brush with my fingernail brings out the gray primer! What do you do to combat this?

    Vacation? What's that?

Did I miss conversation about 'anti-rodent' provisions? I could use some council in that regard. What are you doing?

file under 'least effort/most impact' as far as things I've done to the truck. Even simple things like hood struts or AC intake rodent screen, while not complex, required finagling, measurement, inconvenient ergonomics...something. Not this. badda boom, badda bing

T30 and a cordless, torque set to it's lowest setting

    upload_2020-7-26_11-27-41.jpg

here's the rub, literally. I think what caused this is carrying lumber longer than the bed on the top of the gate and tying it down during very warm weather. You can see that some of the tabs on the underside of the cap are sheared of deformed. Such that every time i raise the gate, the cap would 'roll' a bit.

    upload_2020-7-26_11-37-55.jpg

this resulted in paint coming off

    upload_2020-7-26_11-38-54.jpg

Enter the solid plate reinforcement by @RelentlessFabrication . This is a single piece that covers the entire deck and replaces the cap as well. The main idea behind this that if you're running quads or bikes in and out of the back, you can deform the whole gate. The press brake formed cap resists that. A couple of companies make either the cap, OR the deck, but I like that this is incorporated into a single part. AND that it's available in aluminum or steel. I chose the 13# aluminum.

you can see that it 'stands-off' the top of the gate entirely.

    upload_2020-7-26_11-43-46.jpg

Zip the torx back in to the deck. and done.

    upload_2020-7-26_11-44-48.jpg

Nice clean lines. Ever so textured powdercoat. I'm thinking some non slip tape for rainy day traction, but we'll see how it is without. Added benefit...this old mans knees doesn't have to find a sweet spot to kneel on when climbing into that back. That frustrated the hell outta me camping last weekend.

So what say you? am I out? Like @Unchained 5150, an interloper helping ya'll to realize the money you're saving?

Also, the customer service from Relentless was outstanding. There was some glitch in their site that kept saying it couldn't ship to my location, so it needed to be removed from the cart. In short- SOL. Thought that was weird so I sent an email through the 'contact us' link. Mind you I had low expectations as to the timeliness on all of this. Figured that somebody would get back at some point..few days? Probably. No biggee. and that the deck would 6-8 weeks out.

I got an email reply later in the day. They agreed the 'no ship' thing didn't sound right asked for my deets, and promised I'd hear back soon. The next day, same time, another email, this time apologizing for the glitch and telling me to look for another email with a buy it now sort of link in it. The email was already in my inbox, I hit it. Next day same time, I got my shipping notification. These folks don't mess around.

    Packed extremely well, also.

Kind of a lazy day for me. Gas up my rig for the week. Then cleaned up mama's 'Rolla. Also pulled her new wheels to lube up the hub bore rings so they don't stick. Also gave me a chance to retorque the lug nuts....something that should be done with new wheels after a couple of hundred miles or so.
