Indeed. I love it but more miles I drive the more like stock it drives. This is exactly what I payed for to stop.

Is this true? The truck is reverting to stock driving characteristics after some time has gone by with the tune installed?

It's still way better, responds quicker shifts smoother, and winds the engine out a bit more if your really on the pedal, But I'm feeling like i am getting earlier shifts now. Still not as early as stock. I wonder why my truck needs to be in one of it's overdrive gears (5th) at 55Km/h (Approx 35mph) rolling around residential areas even with the 2.0 premium 04A61 NON-THX tune. With ECT on its in 3rd gear at around 2600-3000rpm at those same speeds (Exactly the same behavior as stock) and just causes a ruckus and makes the truck all herky-jerky. Also- Transmission fluid levels have been physically checked by me a year ago using proper procedure. The Tune did stop the mild driveline clunk I had coming to a stop, though :D I don't regret purchasing the tune, But did I maybe do something wrong installing it? I know I installed the correct file, got a confirmation that the flash was successful, and reset AT/LV right after. I also have hundreds of KMs/miles on 2.0 at this point.

Have you guys reset the AT and LV values? That made a big improvement for me, especially since I didn’t know to reset the AT values the first time around. I also switch to the THX version which I like WAY more than the non_THX version

Certainly did reset the values. I fully understand why it's important, too. Hows THX at lower speeds compared to non? The trucks highway performance certainly improved but lower speeds are still meh sometimes. Could it be because I reset that stuff right after flashing? Should I have cycled the ignition before resetting? My first AT reset said unsuccessful so I tried again immediately and it completed successfully.

    This is the recommended way

Turn to on (engine not running)
Click identify to verify connectivity and ECU revision
    Flash tune
    Turn truck off
Start truck to verify it starts and flash was successful
    Turn truck off
Turn to on (engine not running)
    Reset values
    Turn truck off
Start and idle for 10 minutes

Right on! this should be in the VF instructions... I will attempt to re-flash it tomorrow. I reset everything right after the flash completed without starting truck, Then I shut it off and started for the 10-15 minute idle. I wonder if that somehow affected things. I know there is an update to VFtuner, Do I need to install it if my computer has not updated windows or anything since my last flash?

You can use what you’ve already got installed

The THX version really woke the truck up at lower speeds. Re-flash to THX, what have you got to loose? It only takes a few minutes. Reset the LV & AT values again and put some miles on it, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Yes I did reset the LV & AT following those same instructions mentioned. The truck drives better than stock but I don’t understand why it wants to be in 5th in 35-40 mph In residential areas under light trottle input. I still get the bumpy jerky speed bump hump feeling from 1,100 to 1,500 rpm on this same scenario. 5th at 40mph+/- I can replicate it very easily and the passengers on the truck notice it as well.

I, too am currently experiencing the bumpy jerky speed bump hump feeling from 1,100 to 1,500 rpm in those scenarios.

For some reason I feel it has to do with the Atkinson Cycle but im not an expert in the subject.

Could be. Feels kinda torque converter lock unlocky, too. Does your ECT hold around almost 3000RPM just putting along in residential areas like mine?

I hear ya. The truck really doesn't like staying in 4th for any amount of time. With or without the tune. Odd, since its the 1:1 gear.

I’m going to try 91 Non THX 33” and see if it changes anything.
