Nice, that's a fun bike. I started down that hole about 3 weeks ago. Pulled the bike out to do oil and coolant. Ended up changing my rear tire, rebuilding the carb and rear shock. Probably have to do the fork seals next. Really got the itch to ride now.

I wonder how much light the LED kit puts out...sucks having to come in because it's dark out. Also, it'll crawl up the steps into the garage. My wife suggested installing some cup holders so it can be used to deliver drinks

 

Took off yesterday to investigate the Little Truckee off 89. Fishing was slow, but I managed to catch and release a few dinks on darker elk hair caddis and a foam body caddis. Not much water, so the fish are extra spooky, but it was a nice morning to screw around with the 4wt. I fished it a bit up the road towards Weber Lake, but not much action. I didn't realize how low the water would be this time of year.

Drove Henness Pass Rd. from 89 back to Verdi and I'm glad I did. Some great vistas and views, but basically any dispersed camping spot I came across was packed with tents, trailers, bikes, and ATVs. I may take it the other way, from 89, heading west, next weekend, just because. Of course I'll have a 3wt or 4wt in the truck, in case I encounter a ravenous school of rising trout that have thrown caution to the wind and whose sole desire is to become one with my smoker.

I've never seen Sardine Valley in person before, but wow. Just wow. Also, anyone know how it got that name? I'm guessing there isn't a sardine within 400 miles of the place.

Hahahahahaha, I got that from the dodgeball fight I was in 3 years ago.

 

I started a little rock trail in my yard as well! It ends or begins (depending on which way you see it) with a little 1&1/2 foot rock climb.

 

Got my new Energy Suspension cab mount bushings installed! Pretty noticeable - the difference in ride quality when your bushings aren't as flat as pancakes.

So the Washoe County School Board just dropped the social distancing requirements for our elementary schools from 6ft to 3ft. My wife got her class list...27 4th graders. Under the 6ft requirement she would have been capped at 18 students due to the size of her classroom.

What a fucking mess. I didn't beat cancer 4 times to have the school district put us in a situation where our health is jeopardized because they aren't paying attention.

 

Yeah I was watching a school board meeting about this and was pretty shocked as well.

 

Definitely not falling into another Covid conversation. Too much politics involved at this point.

 

I just want my kids out of the house, they eating up all the damn food.

 

I will also gladly say, midweek camping is the way to go.

North Eagle Lake campground (dry camping). It was pretty badass, but fuck the deer flies.

 

That's the problem. This shouldn't be political. We should be doing what we need to do to keep people healthy.

My wife wants to get back to teaching and I was on board with the reopening plan when they were working toward 6ft spacing but to cut that in half is a slap in the face to the teachers and administrators who were working on realistic, science based, guidelines for getting kids back in the classroom.

Every year since my wife has worked in Washoe County the school district has been understaffed with teachers. The district is not prepared for this and when teachers have to start quarantining because of positive covid results there will not be an adequate amount of substitute teachers.

 

Isn't 3ft basically the standard minimum spacing required by fire code or osha? Pretty much back to normal spacing.
