1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I heard it depends on what department you are in. Some are slave drivers, other departments it seems pretty laid back. Their base pay isnt really that great, they load you up with sign on bonuses and stock options that vest overtime to get you to stay. I interviewed with Amazon air, they went with someone else who had less qualifications, their loss.

 

The closest I can relate is a post on installing rear LC upper and lower control arms. I'm going to be doing this in a couple of weeks when the new adjustable types arrive.

I want to install these and test articulation and adjust to remove any binding before I install the new rear springs. Trail Tailor is out of Panhard rods at the moment. So I'll be starting off with the old ones.

I understand with a 3" lift the rear lowers should be run out 3/4 of an inch.

That looks like a sharp setup as well.

In my situation, not having the vehicle in my possession really limits me but I know this much;

2" of lift limits the coil I'll run in the back; I don't want to run 3"-4" like most do because that'd mean I would have to preload the front coilovers quite a bit to get to that height up front.

Next, the coil I plan on using is an OME 906 since they apparently ride better, being progressive, versus the Dobinson C59-131 which offer the same lift. Dobinson springs are linear.

A 22.37" extended shock length will provide enough droop to allow the OME spring to fall out; Dan suggested limit straps but I may just find a way to keep the coil in place instead.

With the above setup, the link kit sounds like a waste of money almost but it's not very expensive anyway. Plus if I prevent the coils from falling out I can make use of the full droop the rear shocks will offer.

You might get your setup before I get started on mine; would love to see before and after articulation shots if you can!

Fj cruiser springs seem like what you're looking for, I ran them it was about 2 inches of lift and rode great, Soo much nicer than stock or landcruiser springs

The ass end on these trucks is very unstable driving around when you go higher

 

Actually the Dobinson should be the better choice being that they are 15.5" in length for the droop issue.

FJ Cruiser springs are 14.88" in length and the OME are 14.96" in length.

But yes you are correct that FJC can be used, I just wish to discard the idea.

Btw, I'll wait until you want to get rid of those Solo LCA's for cheap.
