What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I run Crisco, it's the only synthetic I trust. And if you're gonna run a K&N you might as well not half ass it and just pull the filter entirely.

I'll let ya know how it works, or doesn't. Gotta love Summit racing for that sick return policy and shipping.

 

Interested to hear how it works out, I hate the filter location but I got my routine down now and only spill a little oil during oil changes

 

Damn never thought of crisco! I'm going to mix it 50/50 with my 5-30 so I dont blow the seals out right off the bat with that cleansing power.

I like the tech like this on TW, not everything needs to be about building tube buggies and fabricating axle housings from ore you mined yourself! My oil filter is jammed up against my steering box and frame and this may solve some problems!

 

The real solution is an oil filter delete kit

Right, I’m aware that Toyota switched from narrowband to wide and at one point. somewhere around 2000 on the 5vz. Dude mentioned that his 04 Tacoma and 02 4Runner had different front sensors when they both have ETCS-I. That’s not right.

My wife’s little brother gave me a cheap magnetic phone mount to hold my phone. so I cut it up and mounted it to the dash. Holds the phone very well! Strong magnet.
I also tried to make it match the dash so it didn’t look like complete garbage...

 

I kind of like dumping oil all over the frame when I remove the filter though...

 

It was a clean floor. Before I removed the cross member.

 

Anyone happen to know the part number for these rear hooks on double cabs? I couldn’t find them on the parts sites but maybe I’m dumb.
