i am not that bright lol. I ended up breaking a sensor too while trying to get it out. Luckily I had a spare sitting around. Also dropping the case turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Found the paper gasket I tried to reuse was seeping oil out of the shifter base. Sealed it up with toyota FIPG. About to go tighten it up and put it back in the truck. Hopefully everything is copacetic after this little fix

sorry to revive an old pic/post, but is that the "stock" or bolted up location that the FJ T-case ends up at without any modifications?
By chance do you have a picture of the end results with it all put back together?
Do you have any interference with the shifters (I'm assuming that no shifter lever was manipulated...?)
    I'm planning mine now, Thanks!

Does anyone have a part supplier for the 21 spline Input shaft that is in the Tacoma originally, that needs to go into the FJ T-case?

I'd like to do that without removing my Input shaft from my Taco's T-case and just leave it together, for several reasons.

there is no 21 spline for the 2nd gen trucks, they were either 22 or 23. 21 spline were in the old gear driven cases.

my bad(!), the part number (and a good source for new) for the planetary gear/ 22 spline input shaft (for the manual Taco) is what i'm searching for.

Here's a little info on the plugs. I am not sure if your prerunner would have them since you're doing a 4wd conversion. Maybe someone else can chime in on that

All you do is make the connection but I’ve got a prerunner and I’m doing a 4x4 convesion so I’m thinking I don’t even have the box but i thought maybe the wires would be there anyway because Toyota doesn’t separate wiring. They usally just tie up what you don’t need between models. I’m looking for pin f12 which I was told was behind the glovebox on a prerunner l.

Those plugs are more behind the dash were the airbag would be more than behind the glovebox

The airbag would pop out if the panel above the glove box. The 4wd ecu would be behind that. So above the glove box and not directly above it

not sure on that harness, unless you have the diff lock there is no reason for Toyota to run those wires.
