Last Wednesday, by 1030 the ac in the cab of my excavator couldn't keep up. Had it loaded and headed back to the office by 1100. Between the humidity, the amount of glass the cab has and a little dirt in the cabin filter it and I were done. I could feel the controls get weak too. It still has the factory 10 weight hydraulic fluid in it. Service guys in this area dump it and switch to 30 or 10w 40. Same as the engine oil.

 

I was out in Odessa week before last and the AC went out at the house and the landlord took 5 MF-ing days to sort it out. Work 12/13 hour day and come home to 95 inside the house. 100–112 outside that week. Was so pissed off I drove to Indianapolis for the next job after work on Friday night.
We are going to break the lease and move to a new house. Such a douchabag. They new on Monday afternoon that the compressor was bad and the landlord then f-ed around trying to find the cheapest way out and couldn’t give a rats arse about the guys living there. POS...

Make no mistake, very few people get use to it. Most just learn how to deal with it and we get use to doing those things that make it as good as we can. If any of us have a job to do we almost all start way earlier to stay out of the sun as well as hit that drop in temps at sunrise and we're all mostly done by 1-1:30 pm and headed to the barn. I'll park in the shade when I get back to refuel, pump some grease and look for obvious problems. If it's too hot for that, it waits till the next morning.
