    Hey All,

Will be moving to the Austin area in February. Will be heading out there for a couple days in September to check out various places.. Anyone have areas they suggest to check out? Plan is to rent an apartment for 6 months or so until I decide on a area to live in and then buy a house.

    Thanks!

Sorry Texas and Austin is full. That is unless you denounce any California isms and you have to like guns. And make it known that in and out burger is garbage and Whataburger is the best. Then, we will gladly accept you as our own. A new Texan, not an ex Californian.

my favorite bbq is browns on Lamar. F Franklin. I’m sure it’s good, I’m not waiting in line for hours for good bbq when there’s tons of good bbq.

I’m a future transplant but probably not by February.

two things. One, I agree. You’re moving to Texas. Not moving from California. You’re going to a new area, not bringing the old area. its not about liking guns it’s about leaving California for a damn reason and then making Austin the same reason you left.

anyway. Number two. What a burger. I agree. However. Every other “burger place” such as five guys p Terry’s etc. I’m not a small guy, not giant, but I ain’t small. I get two burgers. I don’t get fries or anything just two sandwiches and that usually does me up. Nobody warned me that what a burger is not the same size as the other burger houses....I (almost) couldn’t finish my second sandwich!

What part of town is work? That matters. If you work south, live southwest. If you work north, live north.

PLEASE don’t be another “I work near the airport so I bought a place in Round Rock” toad - unless you like to spend 2 hours of your life daily stuck in traffic.

My job is work from home so luckily I won't have to do any sort of commuting. I do travel a bit for work, so something within an hour of the airport would be fine.

Don’t live in Bouldin creek. It’s a horrible place and gross.

I want to live there so I’m just trying to keep a place open for when we move :)
