Order a high clearance rear now and you might get it before 2021 lol.

Since you lost the staggered shock arrangement, do you get any more axle wrap on hard launches compared to before?

I considered it but i was deterred from the $350 price tag for each tire, i'll give them a call to the same guys i'm calling later today about them just to make sure. Also the fact it's a full 33.4" (is it a 33 or 34?) i'm not sure how much room i have to play with if i slot them in the well and have some sort of use of the tire. if you have a set and want to sit down for an afternoon to swap them onto my truck for 1/2 hour i'm willing to give them a try.

the Coopers seems to be about 3/4" smaller and i'm more comfortable to give that a shot. Comparatively both are huge to my 30s...

Well he kinda did for the meet last week

I think I've seen that Roadkill episode. They should've gone with an Atlas transfer case to do the driveline reveral instead of that dodgy boat transmission, but what do I know about TV?

Hi. Looking for a weekend spot to off-road my Taco. With a hotel nearby, and let's say 1.5 hrs. drive from Yonge and Steeles area.
Some places suggested but not sure of trails near to:
    Orillia
    Port Perry
    Picton
    Port Dover
    Prince Edward County
    Peterborough
Any help or others interested in the same, let me know...thanks all.

Ardbeg is about 2-1/2 hours out from there but it's someof the best offroad area that even a stock tacoma can do
(i did it with stock OR skids and some sliders)
Also, lake side hotel, beautiful hidden gem
    IMG_20191005_170004.jpg

jokes aside, there are no hotels, it's pretty tough on the trucks, but we're all showing up (sadly i can't make it) there this weekend if you care to join!

Peterborough/ minden area has a ton of trails. i've not explored the area myself as i head 4-5 hours out from toronto, i just know it's there

Forgot to say in the last post, but those konigs are some nice looking rims, a little thin for my taste but a close 3rd option for certain. looking at what else Konig has, the five star is a 2nd place pick over the SCS F5s.

I like the sweet and simple looks, hate rims that are too busy with fake beaklocks or unnecessary 10000 point spokes

The FN Konigs are the lightest wheels available for our trucks this side of $3000 forged TE37s. I have the 16" version (Countersteer Offroad) sitting in my shed, but no skinny 35s are available for 16" wheels.

the TE37s remind me of the R35 GTR/ Nismo rims o_O same manufacturer?
i wonder if i can get Watanabes for offroad use... it would be so incredibly sacrilege, it'd be amazing

however, seeing those on the actual truck look a lot better than the stock-photo

Yes same mfr RAYS, which sells wheels primarily under brand names Volk Racing and Gram Lights. RAYS also supplies the forged magnesium wheels to TMG for the TS050 race car.

The FN Konigs are flowformed knockoffs of various Japanese wheels. Six Shooter is styled after the Volk TE37 (or TE37X). Five Star is styled after Weds Hase Spec. @Atlas86 ran the Five Stars.

Installed. Choosing fastener mounting over strap mounting was more PITA than I expected, as the hole locations change slightly once the skid is bent to conform to the fuel tank contours. Had to open the rear holes from 1/2" to 3/4" (2 sec each with a unibit), but got 'er done:

Will have to monitor driveshaft U-joint clearance when fully stuffed:

Sounds interesting. I'm more of the lone wolf but a pack may be more beneficial for a noob. Tell me, where's more deets and how it works like you go deep in so camping is the only option? Don't need the full Rambo just wanna dip a toe in, so if the trail will rip mudflaps off or something then maybe this one is too rough?
    Thanks for the help.

info about that trip is here; https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...kend-big-overland-outdoor-buzz-search.676840/
Lone wolf is a great experience but occasionally hanging out with the guys is a nice change of scenery.

yeah more or less. sleeping in the truck, the bed of the truck, tent camping, a matress outside with a cover, if you somehow drag a trailer in there you can use it, whatever and however you want to spend a night is your choice. but after a day of running the trails, grab some fallen logs along the way or bring you own, show up to camp, have a few drinks around a fire, and do it all again the next day.

in terms of trail damage, it might take off a mudflap, might give a light scratch. There are by-passes and alternate routes you can take through the trails at Ardbeg. None of us will push you through somewhere you are not comfortable with, I was on stock suspension and tire size and took the by-passes but still enjoyed the day of driving

You make it as difficult as you want it to be
photos of last year's fall run can be found here to give you an idea; (images start on page 10 of that thread)
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tec-ardbeg-fall-run-2019-oct-4-6.628109/

but again, This trip for the coming long weekend is a little different where you spend one night in one location, off road a bit to the next location and spend the next night there (and so-on). If you care to run a day with them, there is nothing stopping you from parting ways and heading home after a single night and day of riding.

Update: 4wp doesnt deal with cooper anymore :(
And the for the price of the 4 toyo m-55, i can buy new rims and tires in a more common size and still be cheaper.

On another note. I got a recall on my truck for some software update and taking it in they said they’ve connected several computers and could not speak to my truck. They said they may have to have it for a week and take apart the dash, which I’m not too happy about. This is it my 2019 TRD pro anyone else have the same issue?
