I’m likely a long ways away from needing it or doing anything with my truck. I’ll leave the bed sides bare and mar them up a bit. I have a mat that I like for the floor that makes the majority of the abuse, the sides are bare and pretty scuffed up from the plastic bed liner that I yanked out.

Bed mats are great, I will probably add one after. The main reason I’m Doing this is I hate the plastic liners and finally took mine out. There were a few small spots of rust so I figured why not clean it all and get it back to bare metal then give it a coating that won’t rust. Will be important for resale as rust is the 1st gen killer. Newer trucks probably not as big a deal, especially aluminum ones!

We did another outdoor movie night last night. We watched Sonic the Hedgehog. The kids had so much fun!

I found a bad mat made by Bed Rug that I really like. It’s a foam bottom that fills in the contours of the bed ribs and there’s a harder plastic like top that’s flat and textured. There’s a flap that covers the tailgate gap and continues up the tailgate. It’s great for sweeping or shoveling things out of the bed.
I’m in the aluminum bed camp now, it is nice not having to worry about rust in the bed.

Figured I'd toss this on here.

Weld on sliders anyone? Just went a different route. Got one on, had machine issues and just never got the one on.

Both are bed liner coated. One has regular road wear and tear and just needs another coat.

Came off a 2017 dcsb Tacoma.

$240 to keep it easy with $20 bills haha.

Interesting, I'll have to look at that. My truck has the factory spray-in bedliner, but that would be really nice to have in addition.

If I need a bed mat again I’ll probably just get horse stall rubber mats from tsc next time. It’s like 30 bucks for a 5ft one for the short bed just use a razor knife and cut out the wheel wells.

It’s a neat option. I got it from autoanything on sale for under $100. It uses Velcro to hold it down. I kept having to buy more since it’s now on its 3rd truck.

    Very nice synopsis.

I was away this weekend for my Son's Housewarming. And missed this.
He bought a refurb house with about an acer in Pembroke.
The rebuilders couldn't have done any better.
I was happy to see my sister and brother there and meet his girlfriends siblings.

I sent 5 yrs in Scottsdale AZ, after that time I could not wait to get back to NE.

Yes Doodie, I think it goes you can take the kid out of NE but you can't take NE out of the kid!
Am I wrong? BTW, Welcome Back.

Bud is way better than people give it credit for. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered a Bud and I am brought a Bud Light (it gets sent back). Most people who trash it, I ask them the last time they had it and they say they've never had it or hadn't had it since they raided their dad's beer.

That Bud is not for me. Growing up the only beer I would drink was mik light, and I haven’t had one of them in 20 years, atleast.

well got my truck back. it has those frame rail caps in and they filled those areas with the white gooey stuff. I had seen some of the photos on here and some trucks had the body mounts done, they didn't appear to do mine. I definitely still have woolwax on my truck as well as they don't clean all of it before treatment. I also had an AC recharge done. They added UV and told me to be back in like 1-200 miles so they could look at it and try to find a leak as they didn't find one but the level was low. Glad to be back in my truck. Even my wife was happy to be in my truck lol.

Assuming you got the CRC done? How long did they have the truck for? When I set up my appointment (they can't get me in til October 1) I was told they'd have the truck back to me same day. Initially I was told it would be 2-3 days. My frame isn't bad at all, guy inspected it when I renewed my inspection and said they may not even end up applying anything to my frame since I already coat it and it all looked fine to him.

They basically had it for 24hs. They knew i already coated it and do every year and I had talked to the dealer and asked numerous questions before bringing it in for it. When I called to schedule it was a two week wait and they are only allowed to order enough for 15 trucks at a time since manufacturing is down/slowed around the world due to Covid. I'll still be coating my truck again this fall before winter hits.
