I have to apologize. It seems that NC has closed the beach camping on the North Beach Access Rd between Corolla and Carova. You used to be able to camp in the dunes, as high tide often came close to the dunes up near Carova. Anyway, there are still beach houses for rent in Carova. They are isolated, where you need to pack in your food, but they are fully furnished. Nice place to go if you want to get away from everything for a week. Beach is just over the dunes and you can park you vehicle on the safe side of the dunes at high tide. Wild horses, driving on the beach, lots of fun.

I actually found an open beach today. You have to get on a ferry in Davis, NC and it will take you over to the South Core Bank which is part of Cape Lookout National Seashore. You can either rent a little cabin and bring your own generator or you can just camp with your vehicle anywhere you like along the 20 mile island. It's free if you don't rent the cabin. We're considering it. My only concern is if it will be too hot for our dogs, even in the shade.

I want some small led pods like the Baja Designs S2 but without the BD price. 2 inch tall housing max.
I might just go cheapest of cheap from Amzn. Just want to experiment with reverse lights.

    Any other suggestions?

I saw that too, but I didn't think there was beach access for the truck.

I’ve been running the auxbeam floods & spot pods up front. They throw light, but not like the better brands Im sure. But for 15$ a pair when I bought them I don’t hate them. I think reverse lighting would be a better use for them, as there is light, but not super powerful/distant.

Spend more and get the diode dynamics ss3 pros. That’s what I’m running and they’re the best lights ever. 10000% worth the money.

I don't need the best lights ever for reverse. I have some cheap 3 row 4" pods I could use but kinda want smaller just for cosmetics.

If you just need more backup light on a budget I would go with something like this.

I’ve committed treason. Didn’t even make it to TN on the whole trip. Somehow I literally did a ring road around TN and WV and didn’t touch either of those states. To be fair, Kentucky was just Louisville. But, in Louisville I got royals hot chicken. It was good, but yeah TN will be on the docket for the next road trip for sure. Already have a planned trip after we move to Texas. From Austin out to New Orleans, PCB, up to TN Nashville area, then out to KC and then back down to TX.

Went through the Nemo Tunnel today. That area is kinda sketchy. I feel like meth heads party there at night. I was glad I brought my G19.

Halfway through we came face to face with a Jeep Cherokee and I wasn't sure how that would end. Thankfully we were able to squeeze past each other.

On the other side someone flipped and burned an SUV. I can't even tell what it is. On top of that there was broken glass and trash everywhere. A real shame.

Yeah it looked fresh. I probably could have filled 5 trash bags with what was laying on the ground. There was so much broken glass we didn't say long because I was concerned about our dogs stepping on it. It's unfortunate because it's a beautiful area. I don't see any possible way to get a flatbed tow truck down there to get it out which means we're all stuck looking at it.
