Which ALG are you running? is it the UL or the EL
Whats the GI plus? never head of them. Tried to look it up but only see them for Ar-15's

I'm talking about the ALC model from ALG Defense. I also am referencing their AR triggers like life and times.

But yeah, 'GI plus' is just an unofficial title for traditional-design triggers that feature different materials or polished/worked surfaces. Reduces grit and purchase for a cleaner and lighter break.

    Ah ok makes sense.
I'm going to give ALG a try to see how it holds up. So far looks like everyone likes em.
    Thanks

So, after seeing my first suppressed AR yesterday in person, I think I need one. What would the price range be to build something similar to this? I like the way the can tucks into the hand guard. It also had a suppressed bolt carrier.

Any good resources online when I can learn more?

@TACO ROCKO I'm actually referencing the ALG triggers for AKs, such as the AKT-UT. I run the Geiselle SSA/Super SCAR triggers in my SCAR/ARs, but have never run any of the 'enhanced' mil-spec triggers like the ALG QMS or ACT, the BCM PNT, or or PSA EPT.

@dilbert depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go, https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/Silencers/20/ is a good place to start. If you wanted a lighter touch, reddit.com/r/nfa is good (in the event it still exists), or if you want to be super casual about it, check the hashtag #twostamptuesday and ask around in those parts.

regarding your question on cost, including $400 worth of tax stamps, you can probably get away with a ~$2,500 budget? that said, I think my suppressed setups end up being more like $3,500-5,500ish depending on optics, lights, etc?

That setup from your compatriot is gunna be more in the 5k range given the fact that he appears to be set up to run under NODS (not gunna lie, I'm surprised about the optic selection and bailing on backup irons...). But regardless, good for him on teaching the younger generation on a proper rifle with a suppressor and LAM :)

What you are ready to buy, it seems that https://www.silencershop.com/ makes for the best customer experience these days, making things like trusts and whatnot crazy easy.

At least for the can, you’ve got a lot of options. SilencerShop is a great resource. Good variety to chose from, and they sell everything as a package: can, NFA stamp ($200), and a trust/form 1 (same thing?). You have to stop by one of their kiosks (local gun shops) to upload your finger prints.

If you’re not already aware: after you purchase one, it’s an average wait of 10-13 months before the ATF will release it. Hope this helps.

Awesome, thanks! I know what I'll be reading during long meetings this week.

Is the $400 because you'd also need a SBR to get it that overall length?

Yeah, the wait sucks. But if I get started soon, next summer will be epic.

I wish government agencies could share my fingerprints, especially since they're all digital now.

FYI, if you plan to use silencershop, they got a bunch of their form 1’s rejected by the atf - they are trying to resolve the issue but I haven’t seen an update. Easy enough to just file your own Form 1 online and send in your prints. Avg is 30 days.

Also, if you are mechanically inclined, take a look at building your own can through the form 1 process as well.

yea, I had just assumed you would go for an SBR at the same time. You can certainly skip that part, but personally I wouldn't run a can on anything over 14.5 if I planned on moving with it at all.
