A friend of my son's (on the phone) asked my son if his truck was an SR5 or an TRD Off Road - he said it has BOTH on his truck - I explained how it works...he said yes sir...I just told him it's a Toyota 4X4 Truck.IMG_5263.jpg

Yes, it gets confusing when packages were changed trims in later generations. TRD used to be the equivalent of a Chevy Z71 suspension package. Here's my T100 window sticker.20200727_081555.jpg 20200727_081901.jpg

Today (or rather yesterday) i installed quad hella horns...

    it's
    LOUD as $#!t now.....

HELLA 007424801 Twin Trumpet High/Low Tone 12V Horn Kit with Bracket (interesting that the 2 tone/2 horn kit is like 2-4 bux more than just one low or high horn...)

    AND

HELLA Loud Super Tone Electric Horn B133 Kit Red Black 12V 300-500Hz 66W

i used the following relay connection kit because I happened to have it kicking around and it had a nice connector to the relay but the kits come with relays.... you could just use some decent 14g wire and decent quality spade connectors...

Nilight Wiring Harness Kit 14AWG Heavy Duty 12V On-Off Switch Power Relay Blade Fuse for Off Road LED Work Light Bar-ONE Lead,2 Years Warranty

I used the current horn power wire (used 12 gauge) to trigger the relay and ran all the horns off of the power leads in the relay kit. I personally solder everything because crimp connectors fail and just generally suck, IMHO but maybe there are good ones now.... I also used heat shrink nearly everywhere but would like to ad more to all the actual horn connections, and a braided protector sheath for the power wire.

On the SR there are 3 unused threaded holes that I used for mounting purposes and grounding (i guess used for some kind of radiator something but unused in my truck) 2 are M8 on the DS and the other is M6 on the PS.

Of course I zip tied the wires to keep it tidy and decent distance away from the radiator. Though I do have more tidying up to.do... at least everything is working...

Really didn't have a great spot to secure the Relay but double ziptied it to the grill mounting bracket and should be fine....

The gearing is going to make a huge difference for sure, but this controller affects the electronic response when the pedal is depressed.

I’ve had mine for a couple weeks now and love it, on the highest setting the pedal requires very little physical input while getting up into higher rpms.

my recommendation is keeping it and giving it a shot. It’s super simple to install, so if you hate it, take it out and sell it or return it. But I don’t think you’ll hate it.

This was over about 95 miles - split about half highway at 55-70 mph and the other half country roads and city/town. Not bad for just a little over 2100 miles - had the 6 month service done this morning.

How you liking the Diamondback cover?

I’m thinking of replacing my OEM tonneau cover in the future with one of those they seem a lot more secure and sturdy.

    Aligned my bed.

For those looking to do the same, all you need to do is loosen the 6 T55 bolts in the bed and then move the bed to your liking.
