This weekend I black out my wheels and my badges. All went very well. I plasti dipped the emblems, and it worked great! To tell the truth, I was unsure of if I wanted my wheels black so I plasti dipped them as well, this way it would not be permanent. I think it looks great, so once the plasti dip starts to peel I will sand and paint the wheels the right way.

Please tell me what you think. (first pic is a before pic). I am unsure if I like the look of the silver center caps or the black center caps. Please vote and help me decide!
(If I decide to go with the center caps silver I can just peel off the black on the other two)

black rims on black wheels look best! But, i do agree from a design point black/blue combo tends to not be a strong color choice. i personally say if you like it then who cares what others think. I think I might have to do this as well. What paint sticks to the stock rims best? Duplicolor enamel engine paint?

three pretty heavy coats. i found the thicker you spray this stuff on the better it dries. kind of opposite of spray paint... if you spray it thick it will be rough and bubble but kind of "settles" on its own and it dried perfectly smooth!

and the wheels are definatley going to be painted black once the plasti dip starts peeling. im really liking the look of the black wheels. just not sure on the center caps. i keep flipping back and forth between keeping them silver or blacking them out. doesnt seem like to many people here think they look good with silver caps. i think the pictures dont do it justice because they really do look good silver, or maybe its just me... i dont know

the stuff is called plasti dip but it comes in a spray can just like spray paint. so you coat them just like you would spray paint. when this stuff peels, yes i will probably rattle can the wheels after sanding them.

as far as the badges go, thats what makes this stuff great. the badges stay on the truck. just search plasti dip or plasti dip badges or something similar and a few write ups will come up on how to do it.
