Yup. A person came left through a thankfully two lane roundabout and gave us the stink eye for honking.


They put a tandem set in near our house that completely fixed a big choke point. Still peeps will stop in the roundabout.

 

Isn't that where the problem starts? Folks gotta stop at a stop. Not coast through, regardless of weight.

I'm not asking for seconds, just a pause and not cause an unsafe condition.


And, yeah, the bicycle fitness nazis around here need to actually stop also. Why you riding if it is too much effort to get going again?

Unfortunately, a license does not account for a person's attitude or humanity. That's what insurance is for, if you're lucky.

 

Bicycles are not motor vehicles.
Hit one and say I didn't see him is an instant ticket for failure to maintain adequate look out.
Pedestrians and Bicycles are prohibited on interstate so it's ok there.

 

I am not sure about the laws where you are, but it is officially share the road here. Bicycles must also follow the rules. Unfortunately, they don't. Hell, they can't even act the part on separate bike paths. It's an ongoing issue here, among many other things.

 

Same here, share the road, follow the rules, only to see them passing cars sitting at a stop light, rolling stop signs, etc.

 

Just crazy. There's no will to stop it either.

 

Sorry, I'm used to advanced international rules of right of way.
Since different Countries drive on different sides of the road but all adhere to one international standard my explanation is not going to be helpful to you.

I enjoy the people that come to a stop when it's the cross traffic to them that has to stop. The have complete right of way and they just wave you on like they're doing you a favor by being idiots.

I dont follow any of this other than I think we all agree many people don't know how to drive and/or shouldn't drive.

Due to training and years of practice on land, sea and air my understanding and interpretation of THE RULES is very different from average drivers.
BUT
Pedestrians aren't required to have lights or sound. I yield.
Bicycles,Canoes and Para things are required to have lights and sound. I yield.
No engine, fishing, Sails, Military, Emergency, Gross Tonnage and flashing lights w/wo sirens I yield.
On ONE whistle, horn or flash
I STAND ON.
On first TWO or FIVE
I GIVE WAY
On one all around WHITE, BLACK BALL or BASKET w/o Red or Green.
I GIVE WAY
