Great thank you! Since I don't have a roof rack yet I may just bungee it to my side mirror for now

You might be able to expose one of the roof rack mounting holes and find an eyelet in the same thread. Run a bungee to that

I need more info. I thought the new RTT was a hard shell. How would a soft top prevent water from leaking inside?

Thinking about purchasing the GFC "Superlite" : https://gofastcampers.com/superlite-roof-tent/ when it is out but want to know if I would have issues with flex from the bed/truck. Looks like it is 90" in length and I'm not sure of the exact measurements of the SB, but I think it is around 60" so I assume this would attach both on the trucks roof + the shell.

**Also have a Prinsu rack that it would attach to.

Anyone know if this would work?

Bad idea to span something from the shell rack to the cab rack. Too much flex between the two halves of the truck.

Does anyone have any experience with GordiGear Tents? If so, please leave our feedback?

I’ve been thinking of putting a long bed rack on my short bed topper to address the longer load issue.

Any foreseen issues aside from looking odd? My hope is that the crossbars/load would be higher than the shark fin antenna on the cab, as well as being high enough to negate any potential contact due to flex.

I can take some close up pics if you want. My Roofnest was touching my frontrunner rack and making a racket. I put a rubber strip between them to create a flexible buffer. I've wheeled the truck with it. I'm no rock crawler, it's not my thing but have def. flexed the truck out. I haven't had any issues at all. Ideally, it's probably not the right way to go about it. But, it's been solid for me.

If you don't mind I would really appreciate it! I contacted them and they said that it would be fine if I just attached to the shell and let it overhang, but I would rather be safer than sorry and double check

I definitely don't recommend attaching it to both the cab and camper racks. Flexing independently has the potential to really screw something up at some point, whether it's the tent, racks, shell or cab...whichever goes first. Whatever it is, it's not gonna be a good time. Touching/coming into contact with the other rack is probably harmless, but actually attaching to both racks is a bad idea.

You could use something like to a cheap isolation mount or motor mount to attach the tent to the roof rack while rigidly attaching it to the bed rack. That would allow the front mounts to flex with the cab.
