    Adding to driving annoyances. lot of drivers in this area have no idea what a merge lane is for. they will make a right hand turn into a merge lane and then immediately stop as if at a stop sign and wait for the cross traffic to clear before proceeding. This also happens in a few intersections where a right hand turn puts you into your very own lane and there is no need to merge however people still stop for some reason. I am unable to prevent my hand from hitting the center of the steering wheel in these instances!!

    I'm driving down single lane w/double yellows, no shoulders, big ditches, posted 35. Firetruck,flashing lights and sirens, horn blasting behind. I speed up to 55 almost on two in the 90° turns tires squealing.
    Because that's how to yeild in that situation?
    No. I am the stand on vehicle.
    Firetruck signals TWO to pass on left.
    Stand on means maintain course and speed.
