They have a handy corner measuring tool you can print on their website. I used that and it shows 5mm corners exactly so I think with that 222x122 would fit perfect. I am going to order one that size next week and will find out. I know the 122 works because I have a 220x122 on there now

I’m having trouble connecting Wi-Fi to use the browser/ get the weather. I’m using an iPhone 11pro. The phone says its connected when I look at the WiFi settings on the phone but the head unit says its not connected. If I go into the setting of the head unit and connect a hot spot and tether it works. It sometimes takes a few try’s to get it to connect though. It seems like it should connect as a hot spot automatically. My phone is set to slow anyone to join. Just wondering if any of you have had this problem and how you resolved it. Thanks

@TiHo Thanks! I already ordered the original specs that u provided. I have the glass screen on now and have a couple replacements coming. So i will end up with 2 spare glass, and one photodon protector. I may install the photodon protector when it comes in just to see the difference. Thanks for the help!

@RustyMedic You have to switch the iphone hot spot off and back on every time it has not been in use for a while. So if you get out of truck to run into a store, u have to switch it off then back on. Mine recognizes my hotspot and connects by itself every time i switch the hotspot on. I installed a firestick so i switch the phone hotspot on when i want to use the fire stick and the deck will usually connect first before the stick. Kind of annoying, but it does still work. The fire stick basically fills in where the pioneer deck leaves out. Netflix, Amazon, internet, amazon music... Basically makes this deck as close to an android deck as possible.

The original specs fit and I think looks and works very well. The new specs just tighten it up a little bit more for future reference. Hope you like it!

@MGMSangTaco I posted in here what parts I used, but basically ordered a female cig adapter and used a Good amperage plug in usb. It was a Samsung. The power is ran off of an add a fuse tap that I ran for an in dash usb plug. I had originally installed one of the round hard wired usb plugs thats meant to mount in a circular hole. It was labeled as 2.1A. I tested it before reinstalling the deck, and the picture kept flashing between Netflix and the stereo home screen. I would look for a solid 3A or above usb power supply.

I know if u get a male cig usb power with these specs it should work because i tried the upper port of this one when I was testing and it did not cut out.

If i were to do it again, or if my plug takes a crap, I will install this.

the T9 android unit didn't quite workout for me... being able to run all the aps like you would on a phone/tablet was cool though...

Do these units have similar app functions or no?

Not unless you install a firestick or something similar as detailed in the post right before this. Without that they are just really nice radios that integrate with the truck and retain almost all the OEM stuff and bring wireless carplay and android auto to the mix.

They have a browser app that lets you onto the internet. Pioneer only allows certain sites to be viewed and used. I also just came from the Android PX6. Really cool unit, but too much tinkering. I wish this pioneer would work similarly. But it WORKS Every Time! Worst case unplug the phone and start carplay over. Nothing has ever frozen up, or made me pull out to check if a wire has fallen out of a connector. Idatalink maestro makes install and oem functions work seamlessly. No messing around with trying to use the best canbus settings or vehicle guessing to setup.

Would be cool if the Amazon screen would work through touch on the Pioneer unit. Not a big deal to use the remote. We'll see how much I use it. Mostly for watching movies or youtube while waiting for someone.

Hmm.. I am torn. The reliability of these units is nice, but I REALLY liked having the functionality and versatility of the android tablet style... unfortunately the T9 didn't work out got me.

I installed this over the weekend thanks to all the good info on this thread, so big thank you to all who have contributed!

One thing that is driving me crazy... I can't for the life of me set the clock on the Pioneer UI. Anyone have any tips on how I can do this?

@hallslfod The clock will set on its own. I believe it is based off of GPS and or phone location. You can only adjust the format and size. It is not able to be manually set.

He is correct. Drove me nuts when I first installed mine and my clock wouldn't set as well as my SiriusXM wasn't working either. Found out I reversed the antenna wires. Fixed that and the clock set and the XM worked lol.

Another general question for y’all is where do you mount your mic. I’m kinda tired of staring at mine on the Hondo mount but yet I don’t really want to pull panels or headliner, do I have any more options C209E563-C205-4FDA-8489-095574F985B8.jpg

I ran mine to the factory location. It was actually easier then I thought it would be.

How do you feel going from the PX6 to this Pioneer? So far I really like having straight youtube on the dasaita PX6, but I do miss the sound quality from the Alpine I used to have. I'm wondering if the Pioneer would get the quality back, but man I want my youtube. I just start up the car, hotspot on phone is activated by bluetooth connection, wifi connects and I can just click the youtube app. I don't watch at all (use polarized sunglasses), but I like to listen to various subs that I can't get anywhere else.
