Extra busy here this summer too. Everyone's looking for something to do closer to home, and heading up here to the mountains seems high on the list.

Still got out in the truck yesterday, and the dirt bike today. I could go for a draft beer right about now.

 

There really no washer on the inside of the spc arms? @m3bassman @turbodb

Also my passenger side one has like 1/4" gap or more.

 

That's fucking weird.

 

Can allow the bushing to get moved more. I've just never seen that. All the other ucas I've used have washers on both sides.

Oh well. Can't complain with free parts.

 

Their idea, as I interpreted it when I got them and was also surprised... is that only the inner sleeve contacts the mounting points, and the shape of the rubber bushing (which has to be pressed in b/c the ends are a larger diameter than the races) keeps the bushing in place.

Seems to have worked for a lot of folks so far, so I guess it's an OK design.

 

Yeah I had to press the bushings in. Actually was easy once I figured it out. Just put the bushing on the floor and press down on it while tilting around a bit and goes right in.

But makes sense how it's supposed work. I went back and forth on if I wanted to use these or not. But figured what the hell. Almost saved them for the little truck.

With the spindle gussets not sure I could change at this point to press the slug out as the ball joint stud on these is much smaller then other ucas.

Also when are you removing your lcas? I just found out I bent one of my cam sleeves. And the bolt that fits it got cross threaded I have 3 other bolts that are in good shape and original. None fit the sleeve.

Need bigger bolts I guess ha

 

Scratch that. Two are bent. I can't get a bolt out of one.

They both have interesting wear patterns.

Jesus can't win tonight.

I can't get an lca to go it. The rear mount is not lining up. The cam won't go it. It's like the whole thing needs to twist which it can't do.

But that explains the bent cams too. Was being torqued that way somehow I got it in last time.

And to check I tried putting my lt lca in and it's even worse. I'd have to bend the rear tab in so much it would never sit flat against the bushing. Like 1/4" out.

Wtf is going on..I'm about to light this whole thing on fire.

 

Not sure yet. Parts are ordered. Sonoran Steel has not sent a shipping notice yet.

Hopefully, I don't run into these types of issues when I do mine. It's been 28K since the whitelines were installed. All new cam adjusters and bolts were used when we did that.

Did you finally get your Solo arms back? Is that what you are working on now?

It's not as simple as you make it sound.

 

tried to last night. But the rear mount is not lining up at all. Im still not totally sure how I am going to tackle it tonight.

 

It sounds like your adjusters are not turning freely.

 

I can't get the rear adjuster through the hole haha the tabs holes like don't line up and the LCA seems too narrow on both the Solo LCAs and MCM LT LCAs..which doesn't make sense either.

 

I am having trouble seeing how what you are describing is even possible. The bolts go thru fine without the arms there?
