Hey guys, wanted to start this thread to get more in depth info on different options available for third Gen rear suspension. I'll start:
Truck- 3G DCLB TRD Sport, sliders, 83 lb skid plate, subwoofers, two amps, approx 400 lbs added weight total

Been riding on an icon AAL on the stock leaf pack with overload removed for about 2 years now. The ride has been pretty good but not great since installing. Softer and more compliant than stock but overall two issues have emerged:
    1) when going over some potholes or other times where suspension needs to dropped quickly, seems like the truck does not quite have enough droop as it tends to drop down rather than riding over things like this
    2) starting to sag from the added weight, which contributes to more sway left and right

In order to fix those issues, I am going to install Archive Garage hammer hangers and the bed cross bar to eliminate any side to side play in the hangers. Also, I am going SUA in order to increase droop travel and improve ride quality. I am hoping that the entire setup will prove to be more reliable overall than the stock setup.

Who else has big suspension mods planned? Why are you doing what you are doing? Starting this thread again to try and spread knowledge!

The stock leaf pack starting to sag lead me to create this thread and pursue a much more heavily built mid travel setup for my truck. Details of the build and some pictures to come soon. I plan on having the entire job done at a well known 4x4 shop near me, Eastern Truck Accessories, in Virginia Beach, VA.

So here is Gert as she sits, about 2" over stock up front and a half inch to an inch over in the rear, on 20x10s with 33.5s (285/65r20)

And here are some photos of the parts for my rear suspension build. All in we've got:
    -Archive Garage shackle hangers
    -Archive Garage shackle crossbar
-Archive Garage bump stop strike plates
    -Fox hydro bumpstops
-Fox triple tube 3.0 bypass shocks
-Deaver expedition mid travel leaf pack

In my case, no. Upward travel was never limited by the springs it was the axle hitting the bumpstops and that hasn't changed. But I have a lot more droop now. In theory that's correct but in this application it doesn't quite work out that way as far as I can tell

    Tuned, geared, armored, BP51s...
On my 2016 OR dblcab, my rear leafs are almost backwards after 1 year of wheeling and carrying around sliders, tent, batteries and a winch.

I've got bp51s in the garage and a heavy OME pack for the rear.
We'll also do brake lines, sway bar delete, UCAs, rotors, brakes and all that good stuff.

I've very disappointed in the stock suspension to say the least!

Looks great. Clean setup! With and without a couple of hundred pounds in the bed, how does the additional travel and droop handle highway on and off ramps and how smooth on the highway?

Gotcha. My bumps are on top of my leafs which is the space being occupied.

Always though the drop was a function of leaf, shackle length, and shock length restriction.

Yes that's also true, my new leaf pack is much longer, the shackles hang down slightly lower, and shocks are relatively massive lol. But my truck rides fairly high on the springs so they end up having much more droop the way they are setup! Here's a photo at ride height so you can get an idea 15960239660768789605437675837605.jpg

Seems like WAY overkill, but nicely done regardless.
