Installed the SwitchPro mount today. I have a 2015 which has 2 sunglass holders so I mounted it in the forward one to keep access to the mount screw.

Pulled the sunglass holder and used a Dremel to grind the latch on the center and some plastic on each side so it would sit flush.

Drilled a hole for the harness to come through.

Drilled holes and used some course threaded screw to hold it in place.

Reinstalled the panel and it looks awesome.

My black truck has a blue Sea 12 fuse and I got everything from OTRATTW to run switches like you. That stuff stayed on the install pile until I just bought a SP8100. It ends up costing about the same if you buy quality components and it's so much easier.

I’ve always been the type to try my hand at something to understand it better but I can totally see why it’s popular to go this route. All the electrical stuff has taken me the longest amount of time. I’ve had to really focus on it.

And done! Also wired in a hidden kill switch for my kids fuckery. After testing it on a bumpy offroad area, I didnt bother reinstalling that center screw because it would have been a pain with my switch setup.

Loving this panel. Thanks for making it @MESO

I hit up the website, but are the switchpro panels still available?

Also, it would be cool to offer just a blank plate that we can mount whatever(HAM faceplate, ect.)

Hey guys, I'm getting stuck on what's probably the easiest part of the install, how do you remove the sunglasses holder? I've read through all of the pages here and havent seen how it's done. I dont mind cutting up the plastic behind it to fit the switches and wiring, but I dont want to cut up the sunglasses holder to get it out in case I end up going back to stock or moving the switches to the other opening.

Edit**** just re-read the question. So ignore this.

Open the sunglass holder portion and there should be a screw up in the center. I know in later models this may have changed. Once that screw is out you can gently but firmly pull down on the portion closest to the windshield.

Or if your talking about the actual holder I cut the tabs. Unfortunately there aren’t great ways to retain it. Some have had luck heating it up and removing.

I pulled the whole console out, it's just getting the sunglasses holder itself out. No matter how I try to squeeze or wiggle it out, all I'm doing is flexing the plastic. It looks like it was placed in, covered with the plastic backing (the part that gets cut up for electrical work), then that was sealed on with what looks like plastic "rivets".

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, I was afraid that would be the case. I guess if I really wanted to replace it I could just put a rod through the whole thing.

What do you guys do with your sunglasses after replacing the holder? I've seen some people use molle or grid-it type panels on the sun visor. Anyone do anything else creative?

Put them in the other sunglasses holder:notsure:

The 2015 has 2 of them since there’s no compass like the 2011. But there are plenty of places to put sunglasses, way more than good places to put switch panels.

I wear mine so much it’s not a huge issue but I had the same question. I don’t like putting mine in the lower console. May have to get creative in the arm rest console. Good question.

I've got the compass, but I'd like to replace it with a scangauge. Definitely right about switches though, I think it's the best place on the truck. I ended up using a thin sanding disc on a dremel to take off 1 pin, left it in the console, and slid the holder out. If I really feel so inclined as to use the front pocket or delete it, I can JB weld the pin back on and it'll be 99% stock.

Same here. I did get a little too aggressive with the sunglass holder and there was no going back for me. I really want to put a Scangauge in the compass one. Keep us posted on your progress.
