Has anyone put a Prinsu rack on a ARE MX shell? I have a Sport with a long bed and am looking to put my Tepui on one.

Also interested in this, I have the a reg cab with an mx shell, any idea of the weight capacity of our shells? I have seen tents on the smaller shells but not on the extended roof.

I put a Bajarack Megamule on mine.

I've had a few hundred pounds of lumber up there before, and you can definitely feel more body roll in the corners. I'd advise against a RTT up there unless you have a pretty light one.

With the long bed and MX, why not camp in the back and skip the RTT? That's what I do.

They intentionally don't publish the weight capacity for the roof of the non-reinforced shells in most cases. The MX is a honeycomb of fiberboard-type material with fiberglass around it. Some areas, like the back corners, are just 2 layers of fiberglass.

It will probably be ok, there's lots of examples of people putting RTTs on non-reinforced shells without issue if you look around. There's a reason they sell the reinforced shells though - they're designed to take that weight, so pay for that upgrade if you can for peace of mind.

Have either of you considered putting the RTT on the cab? My bajarack for the cab is rated for ~400lbs if I remember correctly.

Ah I see, yeah I sleep in mine right now but for future long trips it would be nice to have the whole back available for storage since I have a regular Cab, as far as putting in on the cab it's not really an option for me, thanks though.

I have an access cab with a MX cap, and I'm putting Victory rack over the cab (sitting at home now). Then maybe some cross bars over the cap. Trying to figure out where I will mount a cargo box and kayaks yet.
