we use spray foam insulation here too , usually to encapsulate basement framing to foundation wall but also in unvented roof assemblies , works great

Got all the wall sheathing pretty much complete , just a few odd ball pieces missing which I can clean up Monday

Nailing schedule for the shearwalls is 2 1/2" on centre around the perimeter of the panels , 6" on centre in the field

I managed to burn up a lot of nails I had laying around haha

Also my plumber stopped by today and dropped off the sewage pump chamber unit we are going to use

Next week I will be starting the timber work for the timber trusses then I can start framing the roof

Yes , usually the plywood is on the walls before we stand them . If the rafters were on it would be difficult to nail the plywood at the top plates

    hope not

this is pretty normal building practice in our area , I'm in the highest seismic requirement region for lateral restraint in Canada

Finished up installing and nailing of wall sheathing today , also installed all my Simpson HDU-5 hold downs , there are 9 total in the building

Tomorrow we all get to go on a field trip to an OZTCO off site remote timber storage facility and pick through my timber stash to get the material we need for the beam work , should be fun , for your safety , please keep your hands , arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times .

Are safety vests and hard hats required? Or can I show up in board shorts, flip flops and sunglasses drinking a beer and smoking a ciggy?

Ha, that was only a partial question, I realized the answer to and deleted it before I posted, but TW likes to not delete sometimes.

Very Jealous, my entire selection of decent wood consists of 4 8x8 cedar posts between 6'-8' that used to support my deck. One is destined to be my new mantle, the rest im just storing for fun i guess.
