TacomaBeast is having a Magnuson super charger installed today on his 3rd gen! Its only getting 308 HP at the wheels. TacomaBeast should have real world dyno video after install like to see what it actually gets! For $6600 thts alot of $$$ for 308HP!!!!!

 

I'm not familiar with his truck but anyone called TacomaBeast is bound to have a ton of armor and bigger tires, so I'm sure there's also power loss due to that

 

I would be absolutely FURIOUS if I paid 6 grand to put 300hp at the rear wheels with an engine tjat produces 300 crank "with a 500 dollar tune". That is an absolutely pathetic unacceptable gain. The claimed 30% should be a MINIMUM not a general target. 278x.1x3 is around 361 crank, thats 83hp being lost through what im guessing is the 6sp auto, not sure what he has. Thats 30% loss which is what I saw in most of my tuned AWD manual cars. They need to be pushing for the 400-425 crank level to make a 6k purchase even remotely reasonable. There is already consumer protected factory backed 3rd party tune options for the garbage colorado making 400. No way im paying a grand per 10 hp gain over my stock OV tune, thats retarded. Thats assuming you install it yourself so no install costs.

 

power output from toyota for the tacoma is 278hp at the crank. not 300.

Tacomabeast is a company/website that sells a lot of aftermarket Tacoma parts. They were recently in trouble for one of their un-educated cameramen scratching their logo into a rock at MOAB

You guys need to compare apples to apples. 308WHP sounds weak.. but it could be a Mustang Dyno (which reads 20-30% low) We also don't know what his baseline numbers are. Big tires are a killer. For all we know, baseline (pre supercharger) could have been ~200WHP. So 100 at the wheel gain is pretty significant.
Either way, I'd like to see more real world numbers from Magnusons's charger.

 

I can bet my ass the Tacos engine is more robust than that POS they tossed in the colorado, so there is absolutely no excuse to not at least match the numbers of the lesser quality competition. And if im not mistaken they claim that 400 is at the wheels?
