New 2020 head unit. Buying?

The Kicker Key helped a lot. But now that I have adequate power I wish I had higher quality speakers.
If you are keeping these factory head unit I would recommend the kicker key.

 

I actually changed out all my speakers for aftermarket JBLs— the Toyota HU doesn’t really have the power to drive them though... I was going to get a big 4 channel amp, but this kicker key solution sounds like it might be just what I’m looking for! Thanks!

There are some rav4 for sale on ebay for sale would these work with a custom harness?

 

Thinking of selling mine. 2020 radio with JBL. Haven't seen any others for sale.

 

Put it up on the parts for sale, you’ll likely have some takers. I’ve been looking every few days for a 2020 head unit w/o JBL.

Not sure I want to take on a non-JBL to JBL retrofit or I’d take it off your hands myself.

Just swapped my 2017 Entune 2.0 premium with a 2020 headunit. I purchased the headunit from another user on here and ordered the main harnesses from autoharnesshouse.com and ordered a USB cable from eBay. Works great so far with CarPlay.

 

What USB cable did you use?

 

Does your 2017 have the auto light switch, does the screen dim when you turn on and off the headlamps?

It is a non-JBL.
Haven't tried phone calls.
Usually when I take a call in the car, I just raise the phone into my ear instead of having it on speaker.

 

Phone calls sound fine, per my friend.

Dimming also works great.

 

I did the Entune 2.0 to Entune 3.0 retrofit on my wife's 2017 Sienna that has auto on/off lights, and the screen dims at night and when I put my hand over the light sensor. I imagine it'll be the same with the Tacomas that have that feature. Haven't done my truck yet ... as soon as I find a good deal on a head unit.

Did you get your head unit also from eBay? There are a few “Tacoma 2020” for sale but they have the CD slot

 

I bought mine from another user on TW. I posted in a thread asking if anyone had a 2020 headunit that they weren't using, and I would buy it. A guy messaged me the next morning and we made a deal.
