Get it. But MSRP is MSRP. They're also gouging on colors. $2500 premium on cement grey with a "market markup"? $10k markup on pro??? We'll wait it out. And if it takes too long we'll see about other makes. Love my Tacoma. But if I can get something comparable for $6-7k less it might be a better option. I'm not buying the truck. My kid will be making the payments. $5k is a lot of coin when you're making $14/hour.

I hope my response wasn't confusing, but I was agreeing to your point. MSRP pricing already has profit built into the price for dealers. I don't like the current pricing either, but that's what our free market system allows. And the great thing about the system is, they can charge whatever they want, and I can chose to never buy from greedy dealerships that insist on a markup on a MASS produced truck. I think these sales are forgetting the fact that they are risking their dealership reputation to gouge mark up profit on the number one selling and produced mid-sized truck, not a limited edition Lamborghini.

If the market agrees with several grand being added to the msrp as a premium and it sells then there is no dealership incentive to lower from that but if the consumer just says hell noooo then they will change there ways. I look at like this when you drive it off the lot you have already lost value and now you tack on another 5k to msrp means you will be upside down longer so if you buy it you better carry gap coverage so you don't get burned in case of you having it totaled

Price all depends on what model you pick as well as what options it has. For me normally I find better deals around October that's when they want to clear out the years stock and make room for the newer year but sadly with what is going on I dont see the market changing till next year but if your not in no hurry just wait till things settle back down and don't settle for something that you dont really want, whether it be color or trim or 2wd vs 4wd

Looking at old posts, you're doing pretty well if you can score a Pro at MSRP. Stellar if you can find one discounted under MSRP.

Now that I just looked at your previous post, you bought an OR MODEL. I was looking at a sport. ‍♂️

I'll hold off for abit if I don't find a voodoo here in south florida.

Have you looked outside your area. When I got mine it was 8 hour a away from me and I purchased it online then flew down there and drove back with it.

Was driving my wife’s brand new Honda Accord on Saturday night. Literally 200 miles on it. A guy cut somebody else off at a light I was stopped at and smashed him big-time. Spun the car around. While it was spinning it came within 3 feet of smashing the front of my accord. Crazy. Seems like a dream. I’ve never been involved in an accident since I was 17. Would have been some crazy odds. Thank God it wasn’t

@Chastaco I'm sure you let out a huge sigh of relief when there was no collision. Wow.

This holds up me selling my Jeep and getting some cash to spend on bigger things for the truck I wanted. It goes to the body shop Aug 17th

It will depend on your location. I’m in AZ and you can’t find a new one. The used ones are going for around 45k+ with around 30k miles.

That's insane for a truck with 30k on it. I would never buy at that point I would just wait on the 21's. I did get mine in March b4 the dealerships had a real slow down and I did private sale on my 10 so I got more money than dealerships offered. We didnt see that this situation was going to get as bad as it is now and when I flew down on the plane I was nervous but if I waited till end of that month I would probably be outta luck. Thankfully it worked out for me

I hear you. A lot of people have painful experiences at the Toyota dealer. But then again that is most dealers, in general. I am on my fifth or sixth BMW (can't remember) and every time I go to get another one you would think they were doing me a favor to even show me the car I want to look at. This is why I am rooting for folks like Caravan, TrueCar, Costco -- anything that blows up the dealer model completely.

But that price for that truck is nuts ... I bet the Ranger is looking pretty good right now, eh? I kid. I kid.

Maybe low mileage used SR5 from someone like Caravan is a better buy at this point?

Good luck. It is nuts out there !

Just glad you are okay ... As long as you get the truck of your dreams you can take the mods slow and steady ... looking forward to your picture of the new truck ... you have certainly earned it ... :)

Thanks I'm glad it was minor and no one hurt except maybe someone's pride. The good thing is insurance has me all set up with an estimate and I got a body shop date set after work yesterday. It all came together fast. Just have to wait till the Jeep is fixed to sell it now.
Definitely do the mods and accessories at a slow pace, paying cash for them. It's exciting my Dad is going with me to pick it up in a few hours.

Just checked Carvana for my local area and basically all of the Tacomas in the search results are on-hold/under contract. Crazy..
